Ugh, they're charging tax. I'm in NY. Thought I'd get TOTAL price.
I'm going for it anyway. The C5 was just a few bucks more yesterday in another deal and I didn't bite. No dolby vision, but I think the brightness here is worth it for where I'll be using it.

I bit. Thanks OP!

Per Gemini, if most of the content watched is not 4k, LG is better, otherwise go with Samsung.

This is a QD-OLED panel so it gets brighter with higher color volume. This is a much newer TV

this or 77" LG C5?
LG over Samsung always from experience. A lot of Samsung electronics have failed on me to ensure I don't buy these anymore.

Don't forgot the QC panel issue and such.

I would agree, LG(& Sony) processing is better/accurate than Samsung. Not to mention there is more content that supports DV rather than HDR10+.

This is exactly what I've been contemplating
Depends on your priorities. According to rting's comparison:
Quote :
The LG C5 OLED and the Samsung S90F OLED trade blows. They're about equally as bright in most HDR content, although the S90F is a bit brighter in Game Mode. In SDR, however, the C5 is way brighter. The S90F does handle direct reflections better, but the C5's black levels barely raise in bright environments, while the S90F's blacks become charcoal gray in the same context. The S90F's QD-OLED panel is far more colorful than the C5's WOLED panel, which is expected. They're about equally as good for gaming, although the C5's Dolby Vision support does give it the slight edge for Xbox gamers.
For me, picture quality in dark environments is the most important, so I'd choose the S90F. Though C5 supports Dolby Vision, it can't display HDR colors nearly as well as the S90F.

If you're mainly watching in a brightly lit area, especially in SDR, then C5 is better. They have other differences as well, just depends on your priorities.

s90 is dogsh!t. spend more and get the s95. highly improved in every way
Would disagree. S90 is a great TV and the S95 is not worth the additional money for most people.

Spend the extra if you have car payments, debt, and are completely stupid with your money!
