Bough this one around 8 months ago, came up front page at 450 i think. Its super heavy and well build. I had about 6 45lbs plates installed on it and its going just fine. Im confident you can stack a ehole lot more, i gust dont have the wrights to try it. The safety bars are also great no way to accidently slide over. You have to lift the plate in order to unlock. And thats a must since i got small kids in the house. The crate it came with was gigantic, some of the parts were really havy and a struggle to get down the stairs. Ill strongly recommend getting one at this price.

Price is a no brainer. Getting it past my wife is the issue.

Lucky to who ever has the space for this machine. The price is practically almost the cost of what the shipping would be.

Any tips on how sneak this in without the wife noticing? Would be an awesome edition to my home gym. Might have to get rid of the treadmill to fit it in.

This seems like a great deal. Super tempted due to slickdeals effect but really don't know why I would need it when I have a great setup for squats already. Talk me into or out of this.

Might want to order some Spaldings, too.

Tell her you got a new dog house for the dog, then slowly move pieces into the basement. If she finds out, remind her that this can't be returned as its way to heavy for return pick up. Worst case scenario you'll have to spend a few nights in your "new dog house" while she cools off.

I bought this machine about a year ago for $750; watch the price as if it's anything like when I bought mine, it could keep creeping down randomly. Because about two weeks after I bought it it dropped to $479.20!
Walmart wouldn't revise the pricing on the order to match the cheaper price so I ordered a second one for the lower price and made them pick up the more expensive one under their "free return" policy. I'm sure they lost money on the freight, should have just refunded me the difference 🤷

The machine is SUPER nice. I've had friends use it and say it's as nice as their professional gym's machine šŸ‘ at the current price it's worth every penny in my opinion.

What's the footprint size? Price is great but I don't think I can justify so much floor space in my home gym for such a specific workout

Into: Leg Press will involve lower systemic fatigue and therefore will be the superior exercise for specifically targeting the muscles in your legs. It is also a much safer move generally than squats.
Out of: The squat is a great compound movement that requires activation of more muscle groups than the leg press. You can also address the safety concerns with squats by using unilateral alternatives like Bulgarian split squats or single leg RDLs.

Or do both. Start with squats and then go into leg presses.

If Gemini is to be believed - 72 inches long, 48 inches wide, and 47.25 inches high (L x W x H). It also weighs 231lbs per walmarts specs.

I don't know if that width is including the weight horns that stick out or not though.

I have a generic leg press/hack squat combo, mine has the horns underneath, and even then the footprint is fairly large. I specifically got one where the horns are tucked underneath to reduce the foot print some but it makes loading and unloading the plates awkward.

That said, it's one of the best compound leg exercises imo. Definitely hits most of the let muscles with minimal pressure on the back. I thought I would like the having the combo hack squat unit, but, maybe it's just me or my particular machine, but the hack squat configuration puts a ton of pressure on my lower back and is very unconfortable so I pretty much only use it in leg press configuration.
