These are awful. We built a new 1 bedroom ADU and did a 2 room, 1 bathroom addition on our house last year and the contractor put these in the new ADU and replaced everything in our house and new addition with these. They go off in the middle of the night for no reason. They claimed there was a fire there was no fire, I reset them multiple times, I replaced them with new versions of same brand. My tenant was also waking up in the middle of the night with these. They are horrible. Maybe you will get lucky, it seemed like it was just 3 faulty units out of the 7 we installed. Its not worth the hassle though. It is awful waking up at 4am to a fire alarm and if they are mounted on the ceiling you have to get a chair or a ladder to reset them.
Dont trust me? Read reviews on amazon or just search google. These things suck, I wouldn't even take them for free.

I need suggestions for inter-connected smoke and CO2 battery powered detectors. I'd like all alarms to sound if one goes off. Like if there is a fire in the garage I'll know sooner rather than later.

Not wifi connected ones either. Reviews on those were not that great.

That is the much less desirable AA battery version.

The 10 year sealed battery like this post is $88 for a 3-pack.

I bought a bunch of kiddie fire alarms about 7 years ago. About 10. Along with about 4 co2 detectors and one heat detector for the basement. All hardwired. I bought them at Home Depot but I don't remember the pricing

Can someone explain why you'd want a combined CO2 and smoke/fire alarm? My understanding is that CO2 is heavy and stays low on the floor, while fire and smoke are hot, rising to the ceiling - meaning you may not get notified quickly enough to evacuate.

Also not code in MA (maybe other states too)...you need sealed, 10 year models even old houses.

You're overthinking this. It's not an issue.

Generally detectors are for carbon monoxide which is lighter than air, not carbon dioxide . Regardless, air in a home is typically not perfectly still for dioxide to just settle at the bottom, HVAC, convection currents etc.

this alarm has a different chirp when the sensor itself is reaching end of life

(which is about ten years, do not just replace the battery in any smoke alarm 10+ years old, replace the entire unit because the sensor is bad)

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CJMP7WHH

They used to be under $10, after 2020 prices lost their minds
