You can apply Amazon digital credits to save even more (YMMV). However it only applies to the "normal" listing; NOT the GC offer.

TT strongly pushes Premier and Home & Business but the fact is that TT Deluxe can handle every situation that these more expensive versions can. The only exception that I am aware of is the ability to create W2 and 1099 forms for employees in H&B.
Deluxe has everything for all investment types, everything for owners of rental properties, everything for self-employed (1099-NEC/Schedule C filers), everything for those who do itemized deductions.
The higher versions offer more guidance but Deluxe has all the forms required and will still walk you through all of it.
Note that Turbotax Online is completely different, Deluxe Online is purposely limited forcing more complex returns to use the more expenisve Online versions than Deluxe.

At the same time, import to TT requires sharing your brokerage login/password with them. I'm not sure which is worse.
Also, you dont understand how the sign in to 3rd party works if you think thats whats going on with the Intuit connection to brokerages etc.

It's too bad the IRS doesn't build an API that can automatically send the data they already have on you into the tax software rather than having us put it back in manually or through an import. I can see how that would scare a lot of people, but you can already do this after the fact by downloading your IRS transcript.
I'd prefer for the software I use to direct download the data from the financial institution into my taxes without having me to double-check that the PDF import process didn't mess something up along the way.
People that say freetaxusa is just as good must have simple tax returns - I've got multiple 1099B's from three different financial institutions (Schwab, Fidelity and IBKR) and TT direct import makes it easy to get all the data imported correctly into my return.

I read in another thread that the Fidelity deal also works with Chase cards.
My concern is that the AMEX offers says "TurboTax - Online, Expert Assist & Full Service". I have a feeling the desktop version doesn't qualify.
I am curious if anyone was successful getting the $20 back for the downloaded version of TurboTax.
Thanks.

P.S. Multiple people report having used Amex and the Fidelity discount to order the software. It's not just Wolve3, and I haven't heard anyone with any issues getting the credit.
