Tempted, mainly for the 1/4" and 1/2" sockets, don't really need another 3/8" set, but I guess I could gift away one of my current ones if I got this. Seems like way better value than all the similar sets that include a bunch of 1/4" bits in to fluff the total piece count up.
Anyone know how the ratchet mechanisms compare to nicer ratchets, i.e. do they feel nice with low backdrag?
Edit: Snagged before it goes OOS, lol
Have this set from a previous deal. It has far exceeded my expectations in terms of quality and socket selection. The pieces also do a good job of staying in place, unlike most tool sets in briefcase type cases. Thumbs up and repped.

This looks like a really nice starter mechanic's set. The range of deep sockets in the 1/4 and 3/8 drive ranges makes sense. The included extensions are also nice. All around, this looks like a really good starting point for a socket set.
I also appreciate that it doesn't bother with a few token wrenches. Those frequently have so many gaps/limited range thus you will need to get a wrench set anyway.
Agree with LovelyField2184, this is a set worth having, especially at this price point. No fluff and sockets are, desirably, all 6-point! Though it's not impact-rated, the sheer breadth of size coverage on this set is compelling. Note that this set is HEAVY at just under 37 pounds! Case has some flaws in that sockets in some sections aren't retained very well, and in other sections require effort to pop 'em loose. Use caution when opening as some items will likely be floating loose. Killer set, nonetheless.

Sometimes the problem is Amazon. sometimes it's the vendor. Hard to tell which.
Yep. Currently awaiting a Samsung 4TB 990 Evo Plus from a 3rd party seller that is just saying 'order received' with no ETA...
...but I've had Amazon do what was described before, too, where an old pending order ('shipped/sold by amazon') seems to have been 'forgotten about' with an ETA like 1-2w+ out, but the product page shows currently in stock with next day shipping (also shipped/sold by amazon).

I ordered a couple. Would've been nice if I'd ordered them from HD instead to get the mil/vet discount as well, but $98 is still a killer deal.
Is this actually a good starter set for a new mechanic? Apparently a local social worker runs a program that helps poor youths get into and complete mechanic training and land their first jobs, and they could use mechanics set donations. Would love to donate one of these and partially defray the cost by selling the other, but never having worked as a mechanic, I'd like to make sure it would suit the purpose to a decent degree. Otherwise I'll just re-sell them both.

I cancelled that order and reordered it with a fixed ship date

Do not hesitate.
If you have ever wanted a spare full set you can count on (you do) or a set for the car. I've waited about a year to pull the trigger.
