These aren't fungus proof but it's a lot harder and cheaper to replace periodically.
I wonder if there is a difference between open box and new for these or just random classification by their "bullseye deals" division. Bought one in store at target once that still had water in it.

A quick Google search shows that the normal price for filters is $40 for 3 filters. Target and Walmart appear to be running a sale at the moment and you can get 3 filters for $27.

Do you really expect this product does anything? Maybe, but how clean is it going to be?

"Item was used and included one used filter instead of the two advertised and had no

Losing the included first filter alone wipes out any savings. This is trash.
Selling something like this for anything more than $10 is a ballsy rip off.
