I have used this as my work mouse for years and it's been super reliable and I love the shape and feel. I relegated it to backup use as a Logitech MX Master 3S is my current primary work mouse due to custom key shortcuts being needed and horizontal scroll wheel being awesome for my needs, but this is a great mouse in my experience!

You mean MMO/MOBA/RTS, not pc gaming in general. FPS players generally do not want more than two side buttons, usually lower weight, and occasionally not even a dpi button.
Anyway, the shape seems good, but the weight puts it in the 90 to 110gram range. If you don't mind the weight, it's a solid deal. Though, I just got a xtrfy M64 for $30 (with targeted $5 coupon) and it's pretty awesome. Maybe that's worth a look if anyone reading this is into FPS.

RTINGS SUMMARY
7.8 Video Games (FPS)
The SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless is a decent mouse for FPS gaming. Its symmetrical design is best suited for a claw or fingertip grip, and its PFTE feet provide a smooth gliding experience. Its click latency is only satisfactory and isn't quite as responsive-feeling as many other models at a similar price point. Unfortunately, it's pretty heavy even when removing one battery to optimize its weight.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality.
  • Very comfortable symmetrical design.
  • Well-built and comfortable.
Cons
  • Heavy for its size. Lowest Weight=91.7 g (single lithium AAA) Default Weight=109.4 g
  • No wired option.
7.7 Video Games (MMO)
The SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless is good for MMO gaming. This very well-built mouse has a symmetrical design that feels comfortable enough for long gaming sessions. It has a wide CPI range, although you can't adjust the set CPI as precisely as some other gaming mice. It also doesn't have as many side buttons as dedicated MMO mice, and people with large or extra-large hands can't use it with a palm grip.
Pros
  • Excellent build quality.
  • Very comfortable symmetrical design.
  • Well-built and comfortable.
Cons
  • Only two programmable side buttons.
  • No wired option.

I had two of these mice, one wired and the other wireless. Both died after a few months. Complete junk from my experience.

Fair enough, you did nail it about me being a mmo/moba player. I should have said that.
