It's a disinfectant so it kills even good bacteria in your mouth like an old fashioned "mouthwash". They could have just put fluoride and some mint flavoring and it would strengthen teeth and freshen breath, which is what they're advertising. But I guess if someone has horrible bad breath caused by bacteria maybe they need that chemical, but I don't prefer it. we have good bacteria in our mouths that serve a purpose. Usually good dental hygiene and scraping your tongue is sufficient.

It also can stain your teeth.
I used one from crest with that thing and after a month my teeth looked brown.
