Great knives, but be mindful of the bolster on the chef's knife, as it makes it harder to sharp. Especially annoying for free-hand sharpening.

The internet likes to repeat "it's too hard to sharpen knives with a bolster!!!!!" yet, bolstered knives are sharpened by the millions, every single day - with no problems.

The fact that nobody charges more to sharpen a bolstered knife than a plain one; kinda tells you all you need to know in the real world.

These are *outstanding* knives. They frequently win rankings by experts and for very good reason. Out of my many high quality knives, these are my favorite to use. And this is a good price for them. Just add a cheap serrated 10" long bread knife and you have everything you need for life! (Also, spend a few minutes watching youtube videos on honing vs sharpening, and learn how to do it right.)

I got these during Black Friday for $120. But returned it because bolster edge was off center (didn't expect this level of quality miss from them), the paring knife is smaller than the pictures and the printing on the blade has missed spots. All this pointed to a bad quality control job which didn't infuse much confidence. On the other hand I got the Mercer Renaissance and it felt like a much solidly built knife than Wusthof.

Looking at the price history, these knives have been this price on and off since mid December of last year and were $20 cheaper for a few weeks at the end of last November.

Just FYI, they do have great quality control, the knife you bought was a reject, hence the price you paid.

Not true. This was from their official Wusthof store from Amazon. Literally from the same page from where this the deal is (see image link). If this was a reject, they would have stated that. FYI, I have been using Wusthof all my life, so I'm familiar with how the quality should be. They do seem to have gone down a notch in quality control from the set of knives I compare from 30+ years ago.

Great knives. I'll get mine professionally sharpened every 6 months so no issues with sharpening it myself... I had a Wusthof Classic cheese knife break after a decade of use and the lifetime warranty process was incredibly easy.

I don't love these. I've had problems with the plastic on the handles cracking. Forged knives feel nice at first, but are extra wearing on you.

If you aren't vain about your knives, 8" Victorinox Fibrox and paring knife would be half this price at regular non-sale prices.
