Most vehicles are nowhere near that, do a quick search for your car make/model and wheel torque spec, my BMW 3 series is like 95ft lbs.

The only correct way to put lug nuts on is with a torque wrench. You can definitely snap them or over tighten them.

I think this is a great price with HP battery for a high torque impact wrench. For comparison, other major brands all price their high torque lines (>1000ft lbs) above $250.

It was the same price for only the impact wrench several weeks ago. One quick question, if the lug nuts of my car require only, say, 250 ft-lbs of torque, does a high torque impact wrench have any cons? TIA.

Just be careful putting the lug nuts on. You have the ability to overtorque them and also snap them off.

Hi, thanks for the reply. I actually bought this set couple weeks ago, looked up lug nut torque for my Tesla MYLR, which is 129 ft-lbs. I searched online and with AI to see if much higher torque (FYI, this Ryobi has impact torque of 1000+ ft-lbs) damages lug nuts or parts related, but couldn't find accurate enough answers to my question.

You can use this in conjunction with torque sockets. If you're car requires 250 ft/lb, use a torque socket rated at 225ft/lb then use a torque wrench to 250ft/lb. It makes installing lug nuts a lot faster.

Good deal, I've been eyeing one, but I haven't encountered a situation with my vehicles where I would need one. The 600 ft lbs one from Ryobi has saved me a couple times. I'll keep dreaming...

That's pretty extreme torque. Modern Ford trucks and SUVs are 100 ft-lbs and that's higher than most. You also won't be torquing anything to a spec with an impact. You might start a lug with one, but you should be finishing by hand with a torque wrench. The super power of an impact is removing tough or rusty lugs. All that said, I use a 'mid-torque' impact from the red guys that cost considerably more than this and at $150, this seems like a very solid buy.
