This is our second home where we went with Govee products for lighting, recessed lights, smart bulbs, Christmas string lights etc. Although the products work well, it's becoming a bit annoying to tell Alexa to turn on the lights where we need them. I think I am going to start experimenting with motion sensor switches in combination with Govee lights. We'll see how that goes.

Yeah, I am the same way with my Hue lights. I've started adding switches.
I'm setting my outdoor lights to be Govee. Great product and much cheaper.

I just started scheduling them when they turn on and off. No more talking to Alexa.

I hear you. I scheduled the master bath but it's hard to predict when and where my kids will need lights lol. I'm surprised Govee doesn't offer an indoor motion sensor switch or something similar.

If you have an old laptop or computer laying around, you should really try out Home Assistant. It's no where near as obtuse as it use to be. As long as you're only dealing with Wi-Fi/Matter devices, it's very easy and reliable. You can use it to control Govee with just about any other brand's motion sensor and still use the app/Google/Alexa to control the blub otherwise.

Can't you use an Alexa Dot with motion sensor detection to switch on lights when motion detected? Program as a routine. You might have what you need without purchasing something else.

You just blew my mind! We have Alexa devices all over the place. Guess what I'm doing today? lol

Thank you!

My whole house has govee recessed lights, backyard lighting, front yard, etc. I even have the recessed lights in the living room synced to my govee tv backlight and it's a total different cinema experience. These bulbs are definitely worth it. I have them in all of the lamps and outdoor wall lamps. They have great brightness and are easy to setup
