Got this on a previous deal. It sucks. Thought I lost my wallet, went to Find My on my iPad and it said the iVanky device hadn't been seen in 3 weeks. The wallet turned up under my desk, directly below where the iPad was sitting.

I purchased this last year in July. No issues with mine. Charging it is simple. Easy to add to Find My iPhone. Alerts are on point. I tend to forget my wallet at work office. No complaints.

Does this thing do well being sat on and bent repeatedly? Is the battery going to eventually set my butt on fire?

Same. It works. It recharges so it's not disposable like most others are. It's the north than keeping a AirTag in my wallet as I previously did.

I have this one, not the other. The big difference I see is that this one the battery is rechargeable, which is why I went with this rather than some other.

Nice catch, I missed SwitchBot is non-replaceable battery.
It seems like these 3rd party trackers all loose connection when you need them, or the batteries don't last.
I will wait for Apple AirTags 2 to be released this year, I wish AirTags could be recharged with the Apple Watch charger.

Pass. Bought one last year, similar experiences to others. The one time I actually needed it, it hadn't been connected for two weeks because it had powered off, likely due to its power button being in a spot that is susceptible to pressure from normal use, which is a major design flaw. Was recently leaving for vacation, only to find the battery was now completely dead and had been for like two months. It's a fine concept and for $6 if you've got room, it's not the worst, but don't expect more than a backup to a backup plan.
