Nothing in that page mentioned anything about 60 days of "continuous" service. Just "60 days of paid active service" is required.
UPDATE: New Trump FCC Ruling on 1/12/26 waived the 60 days requirement.

The new Verizon unlock policy has yet to publish and unknown. Any phone activated after 1/12/26 may potentially be affected.
Effective Date: January 20, 2026
- The cellphone was activated with Verizon Value service by purchasing and redeeming an airtime plan on that specific phone ("Activation")
- For all cellphones Activated on the T-Mobile or AT&T networks on or before January 19, 2026, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked upon customer request after 365 days of paid and active service.
- For all cellphones Activated on the Verizon network on or before January 19, 2026, the cellphone will be remotely unlocked automatically 60 days after paid Activation and 60 days of paid active service.
- For all cellphones Activated on or after January 20, 2026, the cellphone will be unlocked upon request after 365 days of paid and active service.

But unless you plan on using visible or straight talk or whatever for 12 months these deals are basically dead in the water now. Or unless you plan on using them as a Wi-Fi only device which I suppose could be practical for these Motorola phones since they have headphone jacks and SD cards.

But boy I mean I bought that maybe 80 days ago. I don't know what happens to people that bought a phone a week ago or yesterday. I don't know if the grandfathering in of the 60 day is the date of purchase or the date of activation or the date of delivery.
The worst part is the FCC didn't give them any restrictions at all so far as I could tell in the judgment. It wasn't like 60 days isn't going to work but no more than 180 days or no more than 120 days. Just a complete placating to the telecom industry.

Keep in mind, this deal might not be worth it for some due to the new year-long unlock policy. But Visible customers may find it worthwhile.

Attempted to be a guinea pig, but there will be a bit of a delay.
I chatted with Total Wireless, and at least according to the rep, locked Straight Talks can be used on their plans. And it is also eligible for their $10 talk plan. And I know the $10 plan can unlock on Total Wireless phones (pre-FCC ruling) as I did that with a 2024 stylus and it unlocked.
The snag is that I don't really care that much about unlocking, hence why I'm willing to risk it messing up my pre-Jan 20th activation, but I also don't want to throw away $10+ for no reason.
I attempted to use my Reward pts, but I'm about 200 short and they won't pro-rate. Nor will they transfer Straight Talk pts (no surprise, but worth an ask). So....
Collecting freebie rewards will likely take me 5-6 months more before I can try it. May be too late by then, not sure. Or I find another way to earn 200 pts somehow.
However if anyone out there has 1K pts and wants to try it, Total Wireless said at least the phone will work on their $10 plan, and it shouldn't cost anything (besides perhaps turning it into a 365 unlock). No idea if Total will count for unlocking w/ 60 days or not... not sure if anyone knows...

So according to the agent you chatted with, if you had had enough points for one month's service, they would have had activated the rebranded line for you?

For TOTAL WIRELESS, not Tracfone. I don't have a Tracfone device.
May work with them too? Not sure... not sure if Tracfone has cheapo accts or how that works with them I'm afraid.
It's for the $10 cheapo plan from Total that many of us switched to previously to get the 2nd month to unlock for us. Straight Talk also has a $10 plan, but was told it lasts only 7 days, so that's not so useful.
And if anyone wants to try the $10 Total plan, chat with a rep and make sure they use the pts, not sure how that works from the site.

So since you paid zero for the phone and only for the service i assume zero refund even if you send the phones back on your shipping expense.
