My personal opinion is that this jerky is far superior to Jack Links. It is a little firmer and tastes a lot less processed. Sam's Club sells both the original and peppered flavors and both are very good.

Thanks, I'm looking forward to trying it.
This price is cheaper than Jack Links too

Jack links does not use nitrites as a preservative, while this brand does in the ingredients list FWIW

If Jack Links doesn't use nitrates how they keep the molds away?

Jack Links uses nitrates in the form of "cultured celery extract".
And just because it's "natural" doesn't make it any better for you,
Nitrates are used as a preservative and I appreciate that because I don't want spoiled jerky.
It's also a way for Jack Links and other manufacturers to remove sodium nitrate from the label to make people feel better.

"cultured celery extract" so they can remove nitrates from the label and make people think it's healthier

I want to add that using cultured celery extract does nothing but increase the price of the end product unnecessarily so that people who don't know any better will buy the product just because "nitrates" aren't on the label. This is what happens when consumers know nothing about chemistry.

And an aside, the celery can impart a flavor in some products. Some of those "free of" hot dogs (looking at you, Applegate) are just gross.

Also a valid point

This stuff goes bad really quick. Once you open the bag, you'd better finish it in a few days.

The Jack Links does too so I store it in the fridge after opening.

I like dry, tough jerky. Last bag I had of this I left open at room temp for several days. It got drier like I wanted, but it did not "go bad". No mold, no bad flavor, etc. if yours got moldy, probably was a bad batch and you should email.
