Klein CL390
Or
Commercial Electric CMM2055T
Or
Ideal 61-747

You get digital backlit screen, auto ranging ac/dc, non-contact voltage, light, pos/neg leads, k-type thermocouple leads for temps in hard to reach spaces

Checks all the DIY, homeowner boxes. Everything else is just "extra" range or features you won't ever use. Keep it simple when it comes to electrical test equipment...your life may depend on it.

Since they were regular 35 bux and marked down on the tag to 31 bux, I wonder if some HD employee in the corporate office got dyslexic and typed in 13 instead of 31 on the mainframe pricing feed and corporate just now figured it out..... Dontknow
Yeah that seems like a reasonable assumption. The one photo commented on here they had a lot of them left even at $13 so hard to say I guess.

Is the deal dead? Can't find any at my local HDs and there was 10 plus at all of them last night before bed. Now the product link on HD website says out of stock so you can't check local stock at all. Hmm.
Nope, just bought a couple at the store

If you live in Surprise, AZ. They still have 21 of them. They havent put them down yet. They are located at aisle 5 bay 19 at the top in a box, just ask an associate.

Bought one.. comparing to my MM300, I like the bolder "chunky" font on the older model. I don't know why this model's font is thinner.. that's my main complaint. Other than that, it's built better.

These were in a cardboard display in the back of the electrical aisles facing the back wall of the store. Very easy to miss.

Protip: the inventory shown on Home Depot's website appears to be accurate. Unfortunately it can be a treasure hunt to find where they are located and most Home Depot employees don't want to put in any effort to help you find them or bring them down from the pallets above.

Picked up 3 at my local store this morning. 3 for gifts and one to have on hand so I don't have to take it out of my EDC bag every time I need one.

I was telling my uncle about this, and he told me not to buy that garbage since the number isn't as accurate. He gave me one of his Fluke multimeters. I guess it's worth $13 for a hobbyist, but the pro won't go for Klein.

I absolutely disagree.

The employees at my local store went way out of their way to help me find mine. Thanks, to you guys who helped me, this time and in the past. Much appreciated, and job well done.

Not all of us can or want to be able to buy a Fluke for our purposes, and not all of us have a rich uncle.

I'm very happy with my $13 Klein, thank you very much.

No one cares that your rich uncle gave you a fluke, and name dropping it doesn't magically make Klein "trash." Not everyone is trying to cosplay as a pro electrician. It's $13 and it works great for DIY folks. Literally no one said it was competing with Fluke.

The inventory on the website says out of stock completely. So that can't be right.

That's only for the store you've set as "My Store" on their web site. You can change "My Store" to a different store to see that store's inventory.

Flukes are able to survive rough handling (drops, rides in the back of trucks, etc). Many are bought for them by their employers. Most home units never see this level of abuse and I offer that a new Klein, with a new chip, may be equally or more accurate than an old Fluke. My preferences for pro use are the Japanese Hioki pen or pocket meters. Crazy accurate, simple to use, and built to last
