Not the lowest but close enough.

If you have no brand preference, don't need more than 9 channels & after Dirac.
This is a solid unit & the best choice ime.

Please note 9.2 in main zone share channels with zone2/3. You cannot have 9.2 (or 5.2.4) and zone2/3 at the same time, unless you use pre-out channels.

what does it mean to share zone 2/3 when running 5.2.4?

Can you elaborate? I just purchased this and to my understanding it does do all 9.2 channels. Meaning it plays all 7 bed layer speakers, 2 heights, and two independent sub outputs Meaning full 9.2?

I chose this over the RZ50 which can do 11.2 using pre outs since that isn't 2 independent sub outputs. I didn't want to pay extra for Dirac Live Bass control and/or a minidsp, so I went with the RZ30 which has the 2 sub outputs and Dirac Live bass management included.

The zone2/zone3 channels are shared with the height channels. you cant have 9.2 in your main area AND play audio to a second zone at the same time. you CAN play 9.2, but only in your main zone.

Oh yeah that makes sense and a good point. Luckily I don't need a zone 2 and use a separate AVR for that zone. I guess if I ever had a change in need I could sacrifice my heights since I wouldn't watch atmos content and play party mixes in zone 2. Thanks for that.

I'm pretty sure this doesn't include the Dirac live Bass control license. It's a separate purchase.

You are correct...DLBC is a paid option on this AVR

That is correct. It includes full Dirac Live, and Dirac Live bass management. It does not include Dirac Live bass control which is a separate $299. DLBM which is included is not the same as DLBC. It is still better than not having any bass management system which is what I was coming from.

To clarify a little here.DLBM doesn't add BM, all it really does is add adjusting crossovers within Dirac.
It still uses the AVRs BM to calculate your sub(s) into calibration.

You are correct that it does not do any of Dirac's sub/bass correction, that is all within Bass Control.

This is a great price! I pulled the trigger 1 week too early when I went with Electronics Expo for $800, which was the best price at the time

I'm replacing an ancient TX-NR807 in a 5.1 setup. Can't wait to try out Dolby Atmos.

The reason why DLBM is important is because the crossover should be selected within the Dirac environment and not using the AVR's separate crossover settings. The difference in the FR sloping (Linkwitz-Reilly vs Butterworth) is what caused the "SW bug" for all PAC AVRs since 2021. If you use DL, make sure to use the crossover in Dirac (whether you paid for DLBC or not).
