Hisense 100 U8 is much better
Not really, only if the room it's in is super bright with light or sun.

Looking at the specs (especially dimming) the 7k is well worth the extra $300 ($1,799 using Amazon Chase card 10% back)
The real question is this at $2k or the QM8K at $3k

It's the price point that appeals to people. There is always new technology, at new technology prices.

I'm considering this as I have a very bright room.
Also, I might go for open box.

Depends on your budget

I replaced my $2,800 sony that went out so the $1,799 I paid was a $1000 less for a HUGE step up in size & picture quality.

The 8k is a great set but do the research to see if it is a $1,000 plus better.

I think most could be happy with either.

I have a 125" projector & it'll never be used again. This tv is just spectacular. We watch it all the time and is exactly what I envisioned for my home theater.
