I totally agree. I have this exact jigsaw, bought it separately. Can't even get a straight 4" cut at all, even after putting down a 1x2 strip as a guide.

Thanks - based on the quality reviews I'm reading on hte Ryobi brand I'm going to hold off until Rigid goes on sale, price of this and batteries is approaching what a Rigid circular saw would be on its own - I'm not in a rush to buy

According to a post on /r/woodworking a jig saw is not designed to cut straight; it's designed to cut circles. While there aren't the superior brushless, it's still a good price considering what these sell for on ebay used. I needed a jigsaw so this works for me.
