Remeber the 80's, when a guy could stand in the river during summer, and fish wearing Teva sandals that actually had real soles made from real tread with real lug patterns so you wouldn't slip and fall? I do. Cant do that with todays Tevas with zero tread soles. If teva went back to thick, sturdy healthy lug soles I would still purchase them.

What is your current day go to 80s Teva?
None, because in todays world thick heavy tire tread lug sole sandals dont exist, anywhere.

I have these and have worn them everyday- trips to Disney walking 25k+ steps, walking on the beach, just having a comfortable sandal to wear. They're not fashionable, but they are comfortable.

I recommend ordering a size down from your normal size to the toe doesn't keep catching the sand/ground when walking.

I still buy my 90's version Teva's pretty regularly in very good/ almost new condition searching through eBay. A little shoe glue for the glue deterioration in the soles if needed, some sandal cleaner and saddle soap for the leather and they are good to go.

Thanks for the sizing tip. I'm usually 12.5-13 so we'll see how these are; says 12s are out of stock but let me order them to ship later. I don't think I'll need them for at least a couple of days laugh out loud

I'm a 13 shoe, but could do 12.5 in wide. When I originally ordered I'm going to say it was happening a couple years ago, I ordered 12s and 13s. I returned the 13s as they were just too long

These don't have the plastic buckle clip to close the strap, relying exclusively on the velcro to hold the strap closed. If you want to wear these to do something like whitewater rafting, they make "gonzo rings" to help hold this strap closed and not let the water open up the strap and pull them off your foot. AMHIK.

I have used sheet rock in the sides to secure the broken straps - works great..................with a little glue too.

My toe goes about ¼-½" short of the end so it's perfect for me. Shoes have to build in the thickness of the material (both front and rubber material), where this isn't needed for sandals, but they're the same length as the shoe.
