Govee products in general are always on sale. I think it's a gimmick. The MSRP is overpried and they use sales to make people think they're getting a discount. I generally like their stuff but it is a joke with their sales strategy

I stuck these under the railing of my new deck. At $50 from one of the previous sales, I'm pretty happy with them. I wish they had a slightly more versatile mounting design. The mounting plate is only designed for the light to slide over wherever you mount the plate so since I have it under my railing, its stuck up with adhesive only with no room to slide the light back off, which rules out using the screws, but I didn't really want to screw into my railing anyway. Adhesive is sticking well so far considering I probably should've stuck it up during warmer weather.

Is the 12-pack the same as getting 2x 6-packs? Or would that add an additional controller? Can they extend in the first place?

Curious because I've been looking at testing these and it's easier to go in at $50 and get another set if I like them. But unclear if you can daisy chain them, or if you can if that would be adding an extra controller unnecessarily
really pay attention to how you are going to hook these up if you are adding extensions or combining. I suggest emailing them with any questions and have them confirm you can hook it up how you plan to. I have a 12 and an 18 light string running along my fence line, both powered separately but linked as one in the app so they are controlled together. They are plugged in in the middle, with one string running left and one running right, but the app also allows you to correct this so any scenes with "following" lights will run in one direction. I highly recommend them for ambiance lighting that isn't overpowering.

FYI... correct the wording, 6-pack means in their English it's 6 light bulbs in 32.8' length.
Which means each bulb approx at 5.5' apart and the cost of each bulb is $8.50 with taxes.
maybe deal for some....
Yes and there's no way to reverse the direction of the cables at each light. If you're outlet is on the left and the lights are running to the right, then the cable can lay neatly and lights mount fine. If you're outlet is on the right and you are routing the lights to the left, the cable enters the light on the left side so you have to "loop" the cable at each light. It works, but shortens the distance between lights and doesn't look as great. Wish they would make the light mountable on either side so you could route them left or right without losing cable lenght.

I will say that the spacing is enough to mount one on each fence panel in my yard (30 total), with a little slack in the cable beween lights. Makes for a very nice visual with each light illuminating a different panel/section of the fence. While they do have some constraints, I highly recommend these for backyard ambiance but yeah it's pretty expensive for what it is.
