I've had the original for many years and now I have this one they are equally good!
same wattage, same power, just as effective just smaller with newer parts, comes with legs you can have them on or off to fit your needs. I think the lower down it is the more effective it is especially if the floor can even absorb some of the heat.
what you don't want with the heater is dry heat that ends up creating a volcanic swell sending all the heat straight up and above you. (old oil radiators, ceramics without fans but even these are too dry)
this keeps heat in a horizontal band as low as possible, especially the way infrared penetrates, and then it can slowly rise up from there. I can absolutely swear by these units, just set them to 55° and you will not feel cold in your room it absolutely zaps all cold within 4 minutes, you end up just being on downright comfortable with a very low setting.

The company is headquartered in the United States, with its main operations based in Burlingame, California, and a secondary presence in Chicago, Illinois. It is owned by its parent company, TLM International, Inc.
Key Brand Information:
Establishment: 2007.
Niche: They specialize in energy-efficient infrared quartz heaters and industrial-grade portable heaters.
Market Position: The brand gained significant traction on Amazon and at retailers like Lowe's by positioning itself as a "factory-direct" alternative to legacy brands. They claim their products are manufactured in the same facilities that supply major retailers like Sears and Home Depot but sold at a lower price point.
Product Evolution: Their most recognizable product is the DR-968 portable infrared space heater, which features a dual heating system (combining infrared and convection) that the brand claims to have been the first to introduce to the market.
While the name sounds similar to Mr. Heater, they are entirely different entities. Mr. Heater is a much older brand owned by the Enerco Group, which has roots dating back to 1872.
The problem with all these comments about having a 20 year old doctor infrared heater, is that we all know that these brand names get sold around and the quality drops insanely by this point.

If a comment reads like an ad and sets off alarm bells as being sus, that's because it is.

It's reflected in the company names of a lot of Amazon products that get placed here.
Does it seem like these companies have completely given up on a catchy name? Yup. They have. Why bother when the company will be out of business in a year and all those lifetime warranties are worthless?
Don't worry the crap won't disappear. It will be back with another terrible name.
Junpsut space hater. The best to turn your space. Just read the reviews. I'm sure they are paid , made by bots, etc

What's important is the quality and safety imo. I've had this one for over a decade, I'm not sure they're built the same anymore. But I would lean towards oil heaters. They can produce the same amount of heat, but they're a lot safer because they rediate the heat and don't have hot spots that can burn you or catch on fire. The downside is that they're slow, but if you're running one for a few hours, then it doesn't matter.
If you want quick heat, then get one with a built-in fan, but your trading off safety and products that typically have to produce high heat don't last very long. So there's trade-off for all the heating products.
If you want the ultimate efficiency, get an HVAC with a heat pump. The wattage per heat is unmatched. They remove heat from the outside and transfer it indoors, which is cheaper than producing the heat yourself.
Like I said though, they all have trade-off. I would personally just get an oil based heater. They're also cheaper because the parts aren't as expensive. But that's just me.
