Warning: Do NOT keep a balance in PayPal. I did this for years. My account was compromised (so that say) and 1,800 got snagged. PayPal is a joke

If I had to guess, like Venmo (now owned by PayPal) they hope folks keep money in there long enough so those funds can be circulated around to yield back some return on their end.

I may be reading it differently, but I took Virtual's comment to mean PayPal flagged the account internally and held the balance, not that it was hacked.

I've had something similar happen before. I was literally trying to buy acrylic paint markers and somehow got treated like I was running an underground arms bazaar because the seller also sold novelty torch "guns." I just wanted to paint, not traffic miniature weaponry. 😭🎨

The demand was so great they backed out of the offer and even worse were terrible at communicating that they were limiting the offer to one per account. Yes I used it on multiple purchases I might not have even bought without the offer, and never received the email rescinding it. Thank goodness my daughter did and told me . I did get $100 back from a $400 purchase though but also spent more than that on additional purchases thinking I was getting 20% back . I don't trust them now, which is HUGE, because I really did before.

The PayPal Rewards program has not been great for me. I have "Pending Points" from purchases 2 months ago. They are useless until they post.

Damn. I even warned people that they were notorious for not paying bonuses out in those threads - I even got a bunch of downvotes for it.
That's why you don't do business with any orange-man affiliated businesses. You tend to get ripped off.

Edit: Teehee. They'll get ripped off by their demagogue, but get angry and downvote you when you speak negatively about him and his grift. Yikes!

Agreed. Never, ever, use Paypal as a savings account. Also, don't tie a debit card or anything that can be easily drained.
