Not sure why anyone would buy this as it disables the excellent Arrow lake GPU, requires expensive motherboards and ram and is SLOW. Would rather get a low end Alder/Rocket lake with a DDR4 motherboard or even AM4 is better at this point.

Because its extremely cheap and for its price its still good performance.
Also you say expensive motherboards when they start at $80... Or you can get B860 for $110, neither are even sales prices. Motherboards arent expensive at all.
Looking at PCpartpicker, the next best CPU performance wise is $40 more and results in 3-5% better performance...
As for RAM, thats a whole different conversation, RAM prices are high for everything right now, and going back to DDR4 CPUs means going to far worse efficiency, so its a tradeoff, and youll be stuck with worthless DDR4 for future builds.

7500F is faster than this in gaming. 14600K is 17% faster, 9600x is almost 25% faster. If you're going to go with a DDR5 system, the 9600X kills this for close to the same price. This also has a dead end socket unlike AM5.

I would rather get the 245KF from Newegg for $185 (199.99 - 15 Coupon). It comes with a free 240mm AIO and is much faster, plus has 4 more E cores.

Hmmm. I LUV my 128 GB of "worthless" and inefficient DDR4 RAM. I Couldn't care less about RAM efficiency. More for me, I guess. Wink

If only Intel would keep the same socket, then I would invest in Arrow Lake, but all the rumors point to a new socket.

I said earlier that AM4 is better deal than this if you have DDR4

Well. Dead end sockets are silly phrases to say to the average person. Because by the time this machine feels archaic there's no reason to upgrade just to slightly get better when existing cpus exist for this motherboard down the line. We are talking about a base to mid tier cpu here. There's plenty to choose from down the line to upgrade to within the same socket. So it's fine.

  • Frequently returned item
  • Dead end socket. Only lasted 2 gens...
  • 6P and 4E cores? in 2026? 🤦 ♂️
  • No iGPU is dumb... This CPU is not worth the silicon.
  • DDR5 is ridiculously price. Nobody should buy this CPU for a new system. It's weak and will cost an arm and a leg.
  • That's a no from me dogg.
