Thanks OP. I used a 10% HD online only coupon so it worked out. This should work well with the recent 6Ah HP battery on clearance at HD.

Keep in mind that the bundled blade is 24T, typically used for rough framing work. A hobbyist DIY-er may instead consider the SAW+3x batteries+charger deal going on now for 170 bucks, and get a different blade with a higher tooth count (e.g. 40T) elsewhere, for finer work.

For 170, you get the same saw, a better blade, and 3 HP batteries. If I had not bought the 2 6Ah batteries for $110 last week, I would have gotten the 170 deal.

If I recall it was something about the layout of the saw itself. I *think* the 6.5 has the saw blade on the left side of the saw closer to the user. The 7.25 has it on the far side of the saw, so most righties were complaining that they weren't right over the blade and it was harder to make straight cuts.

Just bought this 7-1/4" saw with blade at Depot (Jan 15, 2026) in a combo package with two - 4ah HP batts, one - 2ah batt plus a standard charger. $179. By comparison, If I paid $100 bucks for the three batts and charger plus $79 for this saw - I think I did OK
