Avoid freezer burn, store and freeze shaker portions of spices when you buy in bulk, freeze personal portions of turkey or brisket so you don't have to thaw the whole chunk, freeze dehydrated tomatoes from the garden, freeze pumpkin puree while pumpkins are free after Halloween, store matches and foods safe for camping, buy glue in bulk and store in individual packets.
One thing about these: most people don't use them nearly as much as they think they will. Unless you have the counter space to keep it out, it will likely end up being one of those appliances you never or rarely use. That said, for those that do use it regularly, it will save you $ in wasted food.
