Good deal. I don't see too many real-world advantages to the new model. This'll be helpful for a vacation.

And none of that has been a problem for me with the older model. Worth another $55 for it? Not to me. But what do I know? I'm just an informed, experienced AirTags user.

So am I, and I just would not buy an "open box" gen 1 without warranty for $13.75 when I can get a gen 2 new in box from an authorized retailed for $20. Although the precising finding improvement isn't a game-changer, the extended range of its Bluetooth means it has a better chance of making a connection to someone else's Apple device. Also, I like that I'll be able to stand at baggage claim seeing updates on how far away (locally) my luggage is by looking at my watch instead of having my iPhone out.

Get the cheaper Gen 1 at a discount. Gen 2 requires iPhone 15 or newer to take advantage of the ultra wideband feature. Otherwise, iPhone 14 and older, you are wasting your money on gen 2
