Sometimes I like to take a step back and appreciate just how cheap TV's have gotten. Not sure where it ends but feels like one day I'm going to buy a 100" TCL for $299

Amazing what you can buy today. When my family finally bought a big color console, up from our 21" B&W, it was 25". Man that screen was huge, we were all so in awe. It cost more than $138 too, at least a few hundred.

I remember in like 2002, my family went to a Sam's Club and bought a 32-inch CRT TV. That thing was incredibly heavy and I think it was like $800. It also sucked a lot power. We kept using it until probably 2013-2014 before upgrading to modern 1080p Samsung.

I bet that tv would outlast five 300 dollar tvs today.

What's sad is that my parents probably either donated it to Goodwill or took it to the landfill. Who would have thought CRTs would become valuable.

I have Samsung, LG and TCL TV's, I don't connect any of them to the internet, just use it to watch Antenna TV and I have a separate Roku for them.

I did the same with my new supposed to be free Roku TV from Walmart. Wired it up to do updates and to register it ,kind of annoying you have to sign into Roku to do anything with the TV , then unplugged the Internet cable and it's been offline ever since.
