People always get bent out of shape when I say this, but there are two major reasons you want an actual reversing rating wrench (yes- with a switch like a ratchet), as opposed to one of these. The trade-offs may not matter to you and so go ahead and buy them, but it's better to know.

One) Regular combination wrenches traditionally have a 15° offset on the box end of a wrench. This 15° offset has been the industry standard for decades and decades, and is considered the best middle ground for accessing bolts with the box end. It allows for space for your fingers when holding the wrench. With a non-reversible ratchet wrench you can't have the offset because you have to be able to flip it.

Two) if you were backing out a bolt with a non-reversing ratchet and wrench, and that bolt runs into an obstruction, now there is no way to reverse directions because you need to flip the wrench, but you can't get the wrench off of the bolt because of the obstruction. You might be able to bring the ratchet end down the shank and then get another open end wrench in there to manually drive it back in, but if that's not possible, you have to cut the bolt to get your wrench back.

I personally ran into this situation and ended up breaking a $40 sensor to get my wrench back because I preferred that to cutting the bolt. It permanently soured me to non-reversible ratchet, wrenches.

Edit: Some typos and added a link.

I feel like any set of ratchet wrenches that aren't reversible aren't worth more than 50 bucks, but this is the lowest price I've seen this set.

What do you mean "Not Reversible"? Are you looking for a little lever like on a ratchet? You just flip the wrench over on the nut/bolt - now it's reversed.

Yes that works but if you are in a tight space and can't get it back out you are in trouble.

I have a brand new set of both SAE and MM from Dewalt. Both these sets are almost a decade old and I don't remember ever using them. The Dewalt reversing wrenches have a tiny lever on them. At the same time I have a this gear wrench set listed also. Have used the gear wrench set a lot and still holding up fine. I have hand tools from both Dewalt and Gear wrench and love both companies! May a special situation one may need the reversing catching wrenches but I have not run into that yet. Also believe the Dewalt wrenches that reverse have been discontinued years ago.

While I'd think that particular scenario would be very rare, I understand your reasoning. Honestly, my answer was because I didn't know you or your mechanical acumen. So, I honestly thought that you thought you couldn't reverse them. - Don't laugh, those folks are out there.

I have to agree. I almost bought a set but realized that the wrench is "flat" vs having the 15* bend at the end. You need that angle to get your hand on the wrench and keep contact with the bolt/nut. Flat ones lay flat so you don't get a good grip

Besides they are back upto $125 now

An unreasonably high cost :-(Keeping your eye out for a harbor freight sale on icon wrenches. That's basically the cheapest place to get a decent set.
