Edge products are great! But for the love of god please no one try to go 25k miles on it. These "guaranteed protection" labels are insane and misleading. Sure their oil probably resists breakdown longer than other lower quality oils or non synthetics but that doesn't mean stretching to super high mileage intervals is good. An engine would prefer a cheap semi synthetic or even conventional oil changed every 3k than a premium full synthetic taken to 20k+ miles.

If you're doing predominantly highway miles with low idle time and a forgiving engine then sure you can extend out further than a car with bad fuel dilution, turbocharged engine, or one that does lots of city driving. But oil is so much cheaper than an engine so it's best to change a little more frequently than trying to squeeze every last mile out of each oil change. Most people who change their own oil probably already know all of this but I figured I'd say it.

Mine is showing $22.55 with subscribe and save.

Looks like there is a rebate that can be paired with this, anyone have any luck with that?

IF, and I repeat IF you need to go with a Castrol Edge product ... this is a good price. It is currently marked down to $30 at Wally World. I say IF because most good quality, brand name full synthetic motor oils (at a lower price) will do just fine.

Amazing how much money you can save by changing your oil yourself and get a much better grade such as this. Jump in if you're not doing it as it's so easy and worth your time as you'll have it done faster than if you drive to an oil changer and back.

Fair. I have an LNF (Solstice GXP / Opel GT) however. 3,000 miles, most expensive oil, and a lot of prayer the timing chain holds.

It's not hard to look at your car's engine failures today. My V6's will run whatever oil barely meets standards.

Guess my point is... too many cars fall in that category. Everyone should research if theirs does.

1 jug not enough for my vehicle unfortunately, which makes it getting it done at the dealer cheaper.
Wow a dealership that's not a stealership, you don't see that these days. I'm surprised there's not an asterisk next to the oil change price with a foot note "up to 5 quarts of oil".

5w-40 availability on amazon is hit or miss, and right now it is a miss

I try to wait until Castrol offers a rebate anyways, usually limit 2 which is perfect, I change once a year or every 3500-4000, whichever comes first. Last time i won a $50 gift card to nba.com too. Usually comes to $10-$15 per 5qt jug after rebate
