This has been this price for a while. Not a unique or special product, basically the same as any other 10 gbps-limited enclosure.

Also, the last unit of these I bought it would periodically lose connection with my pc when I left it plugged in for a length of time. Returned and got a ugreen brand and haven't had that issue pop up

I have a different Sabrent enclosure that was doing that same thing with a Teamgroup SSD. When I put in a Samsung 970 Evo Plus, it worked without any issues. That Teamgroup SSD worked fine in a different brand enclosure, and no issues in a computer slot either.
I've also had such things happen when it seemed like the SSD was seated in the enclosure, but actually wasn't getting a good connection.

I see a lot of these for $8-10. What's so good about this one that it's worth that much more? The brand? Anything else?

I have two of these. Great little tool-free NVMe enclosures. Would buy again if I needed more.

I recently picked one of these up (sabrent is one of my go-to "cheap" brands) since i have a ton of small nvmes sitting around nowadays.. works as expected. Usually get around a gig a second on transfers. Haven't had anything fail to work yet though i haven't used it a ton. It's a clamshell with a push button release. Inside it has a small plastic bit on a swivel to hold the drive down and a generic tim on the lid where it presses down on the drive. It's probably not doing very much but the housing does heat up so there's at least a little heat trasfer.

There have been a few firmware updates to the RTL9210B chipset which fixes some drive stability issues. I had some issues on a previous model but was fixed once the firmware was updated. This newer model has been just as good from my experience (after flashing).

For those looking into this, you can grab the latest firmware and flash it

Note: Make sure to select firmware version 1.34.39 in the software to ensure it updates to the latest version.
