3)Google has been slowly marching towards outright banning root via various methods and/or making it exceedingly difficult to keep root and still run various important apps like banking.
4) meross hasn't been annoying with root in the various years I have used their products; granted I stopped using their older garage door opener for a few years before coming back to it again right now but still. Consistent in my experience.
I also don't see it mentioned anywhere about the safety stuff required in the US to have a 5 second audible + visual indication when the door is closing (https://www.law.cornell

I use the Meross devices in Home Assistant automations to control things like smart driveway floodlights turning on and interior garage lighting and house lighting turning on after dark if either door opens. I also have a ThirdReality Zigbee smart nightlight set up in our kitchen to glow red if either door is open, as a visual reminder to close the doors.
The Meross app comes in handy for my wife, who's visor mounted "clicker" can be troublesome at times. The Meross app also notifies on garage door opening and closing, and will notify if either door is open for more than 10 minutes (time is configurable). It can also be configured to close the door automatically at a preset time, but that's not something I'll be using.
The Meross devices do signal a warning beep on closing, but it's not "pre-emptive"; the warning beeps and door closing are simultaneous, not ideal.
I gave up on Chamberlain's MyQ after they dropped support for Home Assistant. The MyQ was also unreliable; app initiated closings would cause the audio visual (beep and light flashing) warning to activate on door closing, and then... nothing, the door(s) wouldn't close. Also the wireless door sensors would report low battery whenever temperatures dropped. I ended up trashing it.
The wired door sensors on the Meross devices are a bit of a chore to mount, but they've been flawless so far at properly reporting door status, and the WiFi connectivity has been rock solid.

Tailwind is based out Canada. The address listed is the CEO's home? or someones house.
If Tailwind goes belly up or stops updates you'll get no support, This happened to me with GoGoGate2 which I now have to replace as notifications that my garage is left open stopped working.
I have MyIQ as well free from Amazon and it does not send notifications either when the garage is left open. (IE not alerts that the garage open and closed but alert after some time period that garage is still open, sometimes the Auto close from Tesla does not work.)
Meross is not just specializing in Garage smart doors but other smart devices as well. Meross for safer choice for sure.
Is this the same Tailwind ? If so not good

The MSG150 is specifically designed for Chamberlain, LiftMaster, and Craftsman garage door openers that feature yellow, purple, red, or orange learn buttons and operate on Security+ 1.0 or 2.0 protocols (does not support Security+ 3.0). This model offers the added convenience of functioning without the need for a separate magnetic sensor and accessory remote.
