I'm confused why it says open box, but also says in fair condition on the best buy website? That seems misleading.

Yea, it seems they are stretching the definition of open box. It probably means someone opened it and tried it but decided to return it before the return period ended. However, that's why the good and fair conditions are more heavily discounted. It doesn't always work out for the consumer though.

They won't ship it, you have to find a store near you to go pick it up, they won't even transfer to another store near you.

Purchased an Excellent condition one. They shipped it and it arrived in 2 days. The box it came in was reused and all taped up but the phone itself looks good. Condition was really good, no scratches or dents visible. Maybe I got lucky though so ymmv.
