Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

I was trying to order my second 13, but unable to pass through the payment screen. Tried a few hours later, now the website said I am not eligible to add any more new line.

Got the Lyca plan and the Account number and PIN. Keep getting the following:

Sorry, we couldn't reserve your number.
We're weren't able to connect with your carrier to get your number reserved. Please continue with a new number, or visit a store to complete your number transfer. Promotions may vary in-store.

I got it like 5 hours ago, will I have better luck trying it later?
I got my second Lyca number this morning and ported out tonight for an iPhone 16e with no issue. It's about 12 hours. You may try again tomorrow morning and see what happens.

it is almost impossible. I tried switching between celluar/wifi/vpn, different names, different addresses, and different cards but 2nd order can't go through. I also asked online chat support to place the order and they faced the same error message. Their online chat support knows nothing regarding this issue. I am not sure if the phone call support has more authority to place the order successfully. But some members mentioned phone call orders failed too so I really don't want to waste more time on this. 😂

Phone agents are usually much more effective than chat support. You won't know unless you try. If you feel like you don't want to waste any more time on this, then it might be best to just let it go and have some peace of mind.

Most likely the causes for that error message can vary and some tricks may help bypassing the issue... but if someone tried all tricks and still no success, the store visit may be the only way to bypass the issue since the sales there have higher privilege levels than average support agent does.
Most of the time MetroPCS phone/chat agents can't do shit when they encounter some issue. 🫠

I have the same question. I successfully ordered the phone, the phone number disappeared from my old carrier's account right after. I read it somewhere that Metro now locks it into its port reservation system. My old carrier line will expire 2/21, but I won't get my phone until 2/23. Will I have problem activating the phone? Does porting actually happen during activation?
I think it might depend on the carrier you're coming from or maybe your credit card company? I ported my Spectrum Mobile number at like almost 12 am on 02/17/2026 and my mobile access was still active till it was almost mailed to my house which was earlier today about 3 hours ago. I did activate the phone through the link that people have been sharing around here once it was shipped. When I was setting up the iphone 13, at the end of all the Apple stuff they were asking it just started downloading and setting up the metro esim on it automatically. I will note through the whole process before that it showed I had no service until metro finished setting up.

I'm trying to order the iPhone 13, but I'm stuck on the payment info page. It has been spinning for almost 20 minutes.

Make sure you add the eSIM to a phone and send (or receive) a few texts to make sure its working. Also you will need to wait some hours for it to finalize. I noticed that it seemed to get past the "unable to connect with carrier" issue the following day (like 12 hours after I bought and used the eSIM). A tell tale sign seemed to be that I could finally disable auto-renewal, as that seemed to run into an error on Lyca (website and app) until like 12 hours later as well.

Be ready though, as you may end up having to ultimately call in to get the order pushed through. I could get all the way to the "confirm purchase" screen, but it always said "please call to confirm order". Then just explain what you are trying to do (iphone 13 free with number porting deal) and that you get stuck trying to confirm the purchase. They will be able to see the order attempt by the number being ported, and can re-create the order and try to process it from their end. The rep I spoke with said the iphone 13 deal seems to have issues with online orders sometimes.

I'm wondering if I bought the wrong Lyca sim or something. I bought the 5 dollar one that can be used internationally. Did you get your Account and pin from the my account page or did you have to call in?

Update: I did exactly as you said and sent/received 2-3 texts. It worked. Really appreciate the help. I did have to call to get it pushed through though but the rep was competent and got it done within 15 min.

Never go to a Metro store unless you want to pay ridiculous fees that double the price of the phone.
