Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

I am extremely frustrated with Metro by T-Mobile's service. I currently had my line with TracFone, with six months of validity remaining. The offer seemed very lucrative, which is why I initiated the porting process. However, the order failed multiple times.
Meanwhile, TracFone deleted my number almost instantly. They mentioned that it was an automatic process and now they do not have any details of my line. Metro's team says they cannot complete the order because the line is now inactive.
I have tried contacting chat support, the porting department, and the sales department. I waited for hours, but nothing worked. At this point, my number is no longer with me, and the order has failed.
I attempted the process with multiple cards and different address, but the result was the same. This has wasted my time and caused me to lose my active number.
Does anyone have any idea how this can be resolved or escalated to fix the issue?
My order did not go thru even completely helped (very helpful agent) from support (provided all info included CC) by phone. You can call ST/Tracfone to reinstate your number (as I did).

My google voice number works for porting. Can I immediately trade in the locked phone at the Apple store?

And if you don't see the e-mail within 24-48 hours, I would just call in to the port department. Past that time I don't think it's going to finish on it's own, GV often requires a manual push through for it to actually port.

i had my port completed manually just to be safe.

but i wonder what would happen if the number port did not complete within 30 days and you let the metro account expire.

i'm assuming for iphone unlock purposes, the phone is considered activated.

and maybe the number goes back to google at the end of 30 days, because I know google voice locks the number again after 30 days.

It's not all bad. This is what I posted two days ago about "zombie" TF/ST/TW line:
"One "nice" thing about getting your number deactivated by TF/ST but not ported-in to Metro, your phone line will become a "zombie". It won't be shown in TF/ST system as active, but it will continue to work for calls/texts/data long after its original expiration date. I have two phones like that, they should have expired in December but they're still working to this day".
Try making calls/texts from your "deactivated" phone and see if it still works. If yes, call/text to it and see if it works also. If it does, it probably will keep working for years free of charge.

I have this situation right now. I even called Tracfone and they said the number was ported out. It wasn't, metro canceled the port

Success porting finally! This is what worked for me in porting a google voice number:

Go into your GV account and set a pin number first, make sure to pay the $3 to unlock it before you try to port, use the phone number as the account number for the port, and when you port, use the zip code 94043 as your zip (that's google's zip).

I was having the same problem last year when porting from Total Wireless (same system with Tracfone). When the port is process online whether successful or not the number will be released and you have to call Total Wireless / Tracfone to reinstate the line, the first time they waive the fee, the second time they charge a fee to reinstate.

It would be a hassle to port number from Total Wireless / Tracfone to Metro if the order does not go through.

I thought about that also because honestly I would have preferred to keep my GV number if it was sure for the phone to unlock, which I think it will because the phone is activated. But given the track record of Metro the one stipulation that is required to get the "free" price is a successful port, so in theory if the number never fully ports they could claim you owe the full balance of the device. Now of course you could use virtual card so that they couldn't bill your credit card but could they send some sort of bill to collections? It wasn't worth finding out so I just went ahead and ported.

Keep trying to connect to TF until you find the rep who knows what to do and how to re-link your number back. Also if they claim that number is ported out, tell them to get Metro in the same call and get it restored or you can call Metro in the same call to get that clarified that number is not ported out.
I was able to get my number restored by calling/talking to 4th rep and around 30 min call.

Hey, are y'all able to login to your account before your phone arrives? using your phone number or email with the pin? It won't let me, but maybe I need to wait until I activate the phone?

I had problems using the website. The Metro service rep was no help.
After some searching via Google it was recommended to try using the Firefox browser. That worked and I'm now able to add another line.
I previously used Chrome, Edge, and Brave and got the same error message, "Sorry, but we were unable to save your changes. Please try again."
Tried Firefox and am getting a blank screen every time after I submit the port info as it goes to the payments page.

I ported over my temp Lycamobile last week, received and activated the 16e today, logged into my new account and bought another 16e with a $30 plan and ported over my Google voice number.
So if you order from you account and add a line, you can get away with the $30 plan on the second phone.

I just had a horrid thought -- what if i trade this phone on the pixel 10a and the turnaround of them getting it and evaluating it takes more than 15 days, and they either refuse 'cause it's carrier locked (I know, people say they won't) or some other reason? At which point, it's too late to return the pixel 10a, and I don't want it at full price, this is actually a second order I'm doing because it's such a good deal with the iphone trade (first order I traded my old pixel).

That's not likely to happen, right?
