Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

For those of you having the fraud screen, do this -

Use a VPN
Different credit card #
Add a fake apartment # to your address (if you live in a house)

This has worked for me in the past.

I have gotten over 30 Metro phones. You can use them as WiFi devices or music players but they will still unlock if you activate them and just stick them in a drawer.
i did the exact same deal a year ago. When you guys mentioned "just stick it in the drawer" thats exactly what i did. I didnt bother opening the phone/ activating the phone.

I just opened the phone a year later and its locked

I'm not sure why a lot of people here think that GV doesn't work anymore. When I tried to place an order using GV, it passed the step where Metro pulled the number from carrier (in my case was GV). It just right after submitting the order, it failed. And credit card shows that card has been charged and refunded right away.
"And credit card shows that card has been charged and refunded right away." Yeah, it happened to me too. I don't understand it, is it from CC or Metro's?

The phone is unlocked a year AFTER ACTIVATION DATE. You screwed up by not activating the phone. I usually made some calls/texts also.

Did you provide an eligible (non-T mobile) phone number to port-in?

Metro. It suspected you were a "fraud".

Despite claims by some people that it will automatically activate after 2 weeks, it's safer to activate it by clicking the button available after the device is shipped - there's no reason skipping it since you've already paid for the service. You don't have to open the box for the 2nd, 3rd... devices after activation. You'll make a little more profits selling them sealed and unlocked a year later. Also you can transfer the service to a different compatible device as long as it's not already on the Metro network.

I believe it's Metro, don't know why though. The other comment says it's suspected a fraud. If it was the credit card, it would send us a text or email (depends on how we setup credit card alerts) warning us about a potential fraudulent transaction.

I bought a phone ( second one) , activated by clicking an activate button on Metro website but I never opened the phone. Do you think my phone is unlocked by now ( it has been more than 360 days).?I want to sell it on eBay as a sealed phone but I am not sure it has been unlocked.
Is there a way to check phone is unlocked or not?

Your last statement that we can transfer the service to a different compatible device, they won't let me do it. It said that my other phone was compatible (factory unlocked), but by the time I tried to initiate the eSIM transfer, my phone was not compatible with the plan. When I proceeded, it asked me to change the phone plan. I have seen other comments confirming that.

Did you try to call Metro with that # or different ones?

If it's an iPhone, you can check its unlock status on www.IMEICheck.com or www.sickw.com (select a free option). Can't do that with an Android phone.

Had to call after getting the security error. Took about 20 minutes used a lyca number. Capital One Shopping gives $10 back on lyca at least for me so hopefully that works out to be a moneymaker.
Calling for the order through even using the same payment info as online that was causing the security issue ? Been getting the same thing with lyca port in for line 2
