Ok your account number is just your GV phone number and your pin is your "call to listen" pin that you set up in the settings of GV. You first have to pay $3 to unlock the GV number.

Porting and failed attempts to order the phone. FYI if you go through the last step and Metro reserved the number you are porting in. But you failed, their payment screen and your order did not go through. Be advised that that number(s) that you attempted to port (no atter how many different phone numbers) are locked in Metro Port Reservation. YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THAT NUMBER to process new order using that same # until you call Metro and ask to be transferred over to the porting department and ask them to delete the port. You will also not be able to port it anywhere else until they delete the port reservation. So, all you folks that tried to process a zillion orders after your initial order failed it will never work (even if you fix why your payment didn't go through) until YOU CALL METRO to fix your PORT. With all that said the port dept will want to verify you and the easiest way is for them to send you a SMS to your metro phone so your you don't have a Metro phone working well welcome to the struggle bus have a seat and relax your gong to be on the phone with Metro for some time. Please know this address multiple attempts at porting the same phone number not all the other reasons orders fail on the payment screen. All I can say on that one is , Don't use VPN, don't use discover, don't use a virtual number, wait 48 not 24 hours for your last order attempt to clear out of their system and if you are a religious person…pray

The short version, you must call Metro to make sure any/all the number(s) you are porting over that previously succeed Port Reservation but failed Payment are not locked now to metro reservation once locked to metro they will not work with a new order or another wireless company. This deal is killing me softly, now I remember why I avoided Metro for so long

Since google voice and visible won't work anymore, what's the cheapest way to port in for metro nowadays?

EDIT: after reading the comments on this thread, I see that many people are reporting that a google voice number can be ported over to metro again (like the good old days).

You can try tello. I keep them as a spare service e-sim since it's helpful in a pinch (especially at only $10/mo with pay as you go) but it looks like they do allow port out as well.

Tello uses TMobile so don't think it will work for port in discount.

Just read through the entire Cricket deal thread. It's only pertinent to those trading the phone in immediately (ie. dont care if the phone stays carrier locked) or must stay on Cricket paying for at least 6 months of service to get an unlocked phone, the latter of which is probably a deal breaker for most.
I don't know what most people are doing, I thing a good number of people here are getting the phone to trade in versus buying it to stick in a draw for a year until it unlocks.

I'm trying to decide what to do with the second phone I got, I haven't activate it yet. If I want to keep the phone, is it better to activate it right before the first phone's service expires, so I get another month of unlimited data service? I know I will lose the service and the number on the first phone if I don't pay, but that shouldn't affect my Metro account or the second line in that account, right?

Easy enough to test. If someone has a Tello phone number, go to Metro web site, select the iPhone13, enter the Tello number for port-in and see if the price of the i13 shows $0 or $199. The tello phone number will NOT be locked up.

With Metro, ALL lines in one account expires at the same time (the exp date of the 1st phone). If you don't activate your 2nd phone before the 1st line expires, you won't be able to activate it all, and get NO SERVICE for the one month you paid for.

I THINK a non-Metro phone uses the $25/monh BYOP plan, which isn't the same as the $50/$55 plan that the i13 uses. That's why you got the message about incompatible plan. I transferred service of my two 13's to two inactive Metro S25FEs and didn't get any error. I have screenshots of before/after the transfer but right now the forum doesn't seem to allow attachments.
Oh shoot, so I probably can't move this $55 plan to my unlocked pixel 10a? I have unlocked moto stylus that was bought from Metro, but it doesn't have esim. Darn, I wanted to trade this iphone in and send it off asap, but I also wanted access to my metro account by moving it to another phone.

Yes all features work. no special reboot. Just choose Metro 5G in menu after insert Sim with mksd
Do you mind posting which seller you bought it from? There is an orangish packaging and blue one, not sure if there is difference.

If your Metro Moto Stylus is inactive, you can transfer service from your i13 to the Stylus pSIM.

I'm trying to help here. How do you know "the GV / Numberbarn " numbers didn't work? If you enter a port-in numbers and it gave you the "Discount": it's working #. And if you got the "call or visit to complete order": That is the end of the tunnel, as my issue even call in support for help: None. If you try many times, your port-in # will be stuck, then you can say my such Port-in # Not working. That's my issue with Metro"mis and hit" website order.
