I have this CPU. Got it in a microcenter bundle because I wanted to play games but also dable in local AI models. Anything above 1080p, which I run a 1440p ultrawide for gaming, the 9900x is within 5% or less of the x3D CPUs framerate. And when you start trying to multi-task while gaming you lessen the gap in real world experience. Then when you start comparing it to AI modeling or any 3D rendering it's not even close because the extra cores give it such an advantage.

The 7900X was actually on sale for $240 this week. I know that b/c I actually bought one this past Mon and it was delivered by USPS yesterday, and it's since been sold out. That being said, I had already purchased myself a 9900X during Prime Day last year in "Open Box-Like New" condition for $306 since Amazon was offering an add'l 30% off that would apply at checkout and it's being used w/ an ASUS X870 Prime MB I purchased alongside it. The only reason I purchased the 7900X was b/c its price made economical sense to me when analyzing how much I'd be saving when comparing it w/ other compatible Zen 4/5 chips which was an incredible opportunity and hard for me to turn down. I had already bought myself an ASUS B650E micro-ATX earlier this year that I'll be pairing w/ the 7900X.
