It just came out in December. I think the price will get better later this year.

Not sure about how good of a deal it is, but i watched the first episode and didnt really care for it. Went back to it a year later and ended up binging the whole thing. Such a great show!

They have a new season / show coming out... Because of that, I would be concerned that it'll take longer for the price to drop. It's a great show! I'm worried that they may tarnish it with the new one.

Be warned this is not a complete series anymore, season 4 is due out this year: https://www.apple.com/tv-pr/news/...is-summer/
Great show, though, and there are also some spinoffs in the works.

I really don't mean to offend anyone here, and this is a genuine questions. Why do we need to buy physical discs or soft files from any companies in this streaming era?

if you care about picture and sound quality, you go for physical media, even tho streaming is more convenient, files are compresses so they can be played without consuming much bandwidth.

A few legitimate use cases:
1) Blu-ray's can be played without all the streaming compression, however, people with great internet won't usually notice the difference, more a prosumer type thing because there are multiple elements that go into picture quality, simply having a capable 4K Player isn't a guarantee you don't get an up/downscaled image elsewhere in your chain.
2) Rural internet or limited bandwidth situations... Streaming an entire 4K movie can often eat 50GB of bandwidth and not everyone wants to pay for that, or is able to.
3) For kids shows, a G rated BluRay has packaged G content on it only and none of the advertising and other bullshit trying to keep them watching more and more.

That said, I do a blend of this and run a Plex server so I have ad-free media for my kids and only consume bandwidth once.

In addition to the picture/sound quality already mentioned. There is also the concern that at any point, that company may decide to no longer allow a show to be available via streaming. Its probably less likely when the company that is streaming it is also the ones that created it, especially with popular shows. But there have been instances of this in the past, I think with Netflix. For me personally, if I really enjoy a show or movie, and its available on physical media, I buy it. I don't want to be at the mercy of these streaming services and their ever changing priorities, streaming agreements, etc.

Has anyone else been on a media purchase kick? Streaming services just seem to drop classics on a whim, although I know Ted Lasso won't necessarily be dropped anytime soon
