Solid deal!! $600 is way inflated but at $227 for this plus 1 year warranty is perfect for anyone looking for a budget laptop with an actual on board Network port, hard to find that anymore. I have a different model dell with that 11th GEN CPU and it is Rock solid, plenty fast enough to do typical office stuff.

Not refurbished, used. Will have signs of physical damage, an old dying battery, and the skin cells of the prior owner. embedded inside.

It's a good laptop but this doesn't have the ethernet port. You're thinking 5420.

You are absolutely correct, and the 5420 is what I have :-)

@OP, "1x Ethernet port" is not a correct spec

"may have" the one I purchased has a rock solid battery and almost no physical damage, one small scratch. And as an added bonus, collecting other people's skin cells is my fetish! 😜

Nothing against the current price necessarily, but pretending this is 85% off is just misleading. I struggle to imagine $1600 even being the full retail MSRP when it was new, six years ago. Even a typo meant to say $600 would be very high to pay for these specs today.

Yes.

That's the joy of buying "used" from ebay resellers. You really never know what you're going to get!

That seems to be the trend anymore, deals being pushed for these shady, inaccurate resellers who claim the laptop is "refurbished". But it's nothing more than garage-sale quality USED. If anything, it's a spit-n-shine refurbishment....sometimes with more spit than shine.

That's the eBay listing, which is incorrect. The seller's listing states it to be i7 and 512GB SSD.

You start to notice a trend with these ebay resellers (and those who post links to them). Often inaccurate information (this one needs clarification on the processor). And WILDLY grandiose claims as to the original MSRP, as you've pointed out. Gotta ask -- what else are they exaggerating or not telling you?

It feels really shady, and it's always the same handful of folks posting these deals too. Makes you wonder sometimes.

It is risky to buy refurbished. I bought the Latitude 7400 refurbished two years ago for less than $300 with i5 8 gen, 16G RAM and 256 ssd.
I added 16G RAM to make it 32G RAM. There are problems but I manage them.
Problems need to resolve:
  1. Battery needs to be replaced. Done.
  2. Sound driver issue. Must use old version of sound driver from 2019. Latest sound driver won't work. No idea why.
  3. It does not support 1T ssd. I can install it but it gives constant blue screen. I switched back to 256G ssd.
