It is not an extremely sharp lens. Quote sonyalphablog "Globally if you prefer 24mm and you have max a 33Mpix it will be a very good choice to travel light".
Its strong points are bokeh creaminess and focus breathing.
At this price range you have tamron 28-75mm g2 at $500-550 from greentoe, and sigma 28-70mm at $600-650 from greentoe. They don't have 24mm.

don't know where to fit this lens. I chose the Tamron 20-40mm for travel.

great choice, but that one isn't extremely sharp, too. This is for replacement of expensive, big and heavy 24-70mm lens. A sigma 24-70mm is $950-1000 from greentoe. The tamron 20-40mm is a replacement of expensive, big and heavy 16-35mm lens.
