Switching to something else this year - the promo offer was so horrible that it makes sense to look at other alternatives. samsung had kept me in their garden with decent upgrade offers till the s24 ultra. this is the worst launch promo i have ever seen.

What a nothingburger of an "upgrade". I actually consider it more of a DOWNGRADE with how awful the Ultra looks compared to last year's, while adding practically nothing other than the privacy mode. Yikes... OEMs need to stop doing yearly hardware refreshes if there's nothing to actually refresh, because what the hell is this?

I have the S24 ultra, and don't see anything even worth a $200 upgrade.

Samsung rushed the S26U and cut features to remain competitive with Apple.

I'll just wait for the S27U.

I went with trade in at best buy. $700 trade in on S23 ultra 256gb is the best I see getting for that phone. To s26 ultra 512gb.

Privacy screen is such a gimmick. When I'm peeping your phone I'm looking over your shoulder, not to your side.

Distorting the screen also defeats a primary benefit of oled which is viewing angle

Now I can watch Pr0n on the bus. Not really, but I guess I could.

When I was a working man and vanpooled, I could have used a privacy screen on my tablet. Not from anything nefarious, just from Facebook ads such as selling bras and panties and such from Macy's. Just would have been embarrassing with tight seating.
