i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.
Is it not possible to Trade in 2 phones, get 2 s26, and internet service, receive either $200 or $200x2 (depending on how the promo works) and receive $1400 for the trade-ins ..
Then tell them to apply PARTIAL trade in credit and the rest spread on the account, that way you can STILL Finance like $36/36 months or $72/36 months.
I think the whole goal of the deal was not having to finance and unlock in 60 days.
I got off the phone with a sales rep that said I didn't have to finance and still get the $400 off plus $700 trade in but I didn't pull the trigger

If you trust them, you will have a good time calling them back to ask where is my $400
Grabbed 2 s26 base today in store. came out to around $205 each, paid in full, trading in those $30 moto 2025 phones.
Awesome price to hold and unlock in 2 months for gaming and or sell for $500-600.
Going to get 2 more next week or online if they stop me in the store.
I would think 500 is the upper end for resale on an open s26. Maybe you could sell it for more online but then you have to pay around 15% in fees, shipping, insurance. I was thinking of getting two or three for resale but I'm waiting to see if you are able to trade in the s26 for s26+.
My trade-in device was delivered to the Assurant by UPS on March 10th at 11am and now the trade-in status is still saying "Awaiting shipment" & No approval email from Assurant for $700 credit. What do you think?

I know people tend to like to go in-store for the tradein just to be done with it but I always find that I have more success online especially with finding promotions. I was not even aware that internet customers get a year of free mobile service until I went to the Spectrum mobile website and was going through the purchase process for the phone when I saw that it said $0/month for the service.
I am on a 2nd free year of mobile service with Spectrum. I knew some people got 2 years free mobile service offer when they called retention department. I tried that, but they refused because my account wasn't selected for that 2 years. But I finally got a 2nd year free by porting out my number to US mobile after 1st free year, then port-in back for a 2nd free year.

I debated it too. This is an amazing deal if you're a new customer (free phones) or you want to keep the phones for yourself (heavily discounted). But I'm an existing customer on a really cheap promotional deal with Spectrum and doing resale is towards the end of not worth it. You have to pay for the phone ($200), pay for the Moto phone ($30), deal with potential sales taxes even in-store (I'm in NY and someone got dinged in-store for that), deal with mentally challenged sales reps, and deal with selling/shipping/insurance fees and buyer risk (if selling online).

Nope, that is false. When others tried with a different IMEI than the S26 IMEI, then $700 showed up. The problem is you can't trade in the same device that you just traded in on the same day. Wait for 24 hours and try again.
The 24 hour wait has been completely debunked. Not one person has confirmed trading in a spectrum S26 and successfully getting the $700 trade in bonus. It's been 2 days for me since purchasing in store. It's been almost a week since some members have gotten online pre orders delivered. I'm not interested in wasting more time to go in the store and find out at the last second of the 30 minute process that the $700 disappears.
Honestly I don't mind spectrum finally put a stop to the upgrade within an upgrade, let's face it, its an exploited loophole which shouldn't even exist in first place. With that said, Spectrum could have made it easier for themselves by just stop adding the new S26 phone to the trade-in list.
I plan to get an Ultra to use but later realize that the 256GB only comes with 12Gb Ram instead of 16Gb. Guess i'll wait on samsung for better trade in deal given I also get free samsung care for 2 years.

I had a bad feeling when they already had the S26 trade in values listed weeks before the phone launched.

Exactly, unless it is in writing on the order I would not trust anything Spectrum says. It may not even be malice but just because one agent says something to you their system is mostly automated and down the road when things are not applied correctly nobody will have any clue what the previous agent told you. Even if you can prove what they said they may very well say they told you wrong and they cannot honor it. Plus if we are talking about sales reps it complicates things further because out of all people they are the ones who would have incentive to lie to close the deal.

The top reseller prices for buying S26 unlocked right now are around $450. Imagine will be $50-100 lower in a couple of months, not to mention some resellers are scammers and will price phones as Spectrum even if phone has been unlocked and then offer you $100-200 less when they get it. Like you mention you can sell on places like e-bay but then you are dealing with selling fees and risk of scammers.
S26 should have higher resell price than S25 since the launch price is $100 higher but we are paying that upfront also.

The retentions department the past few years has only offered me 1 year deals on things like cable/internet so not a huge deal with 1 year of phone because I have to call back for new deals on the other services each year anyway. I am not really sure why they keep handing out full year of free phone service other than maybe for business purposes they can claim to investors they have a tone of people signing up for their mobile service, even though it is just because they are giving out a bunch of free lines.
Probably realistically a lot of consumers are super lazy also. There are probably a bunch of people who sign up for these promotions and phone service and then after a year it switches to full price and they just keep with it and Spectrum makes a fortune.

Yes their system seems to just use the same interface as online so highly unlikely to be any different. One time I called in related to an issue and tried to get phone customer service to help and the agent on the other side was clearly just sitting there filling out the exact same online form. They were asking me the exact same questions (such as full SSN) that the online form asked me to fill out. They even said they were waiting for the Spectrum website to load at one point.

I sold several s25 base last year at $400 top, mostly around $350, didn't want hold onto them so I traded in 4 S25 to spectrum for flip phone at $358 + 100 promo. Been reselling Spectrum samsung phones for a little while now, since the promotion and tax changed I won't doing it anymore. will get 1 S26 base for personal use once my Pixel 10 Pro ($300+tax) unlock next month.
