i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

I think I know what you didWink

It seems Spectrum's S26 is tied to IMEI 1, which is what they usually use for any trades and activations. If you use IMEI 2, that usually is not tied to anything, and hence looks like a new to Spectrum device. Spectrum website gets fooled, and you may be able to place the order, but I'm guessing, when they appraise the used S26, they will likely use IMEI 1, and know that it's already a Spectrum customer phone, and may realize you were trying to fool the system, and they may remove the $700 credit. It's a risk I'm not willing to take. Maybe if we can persuade a store employee to appraise/diagnose the used S26 using MEI 2, then maybe there's a chance one might get the additional $700+ $405 trade in value.
Oh no. I didn't know they were different and I didn't pay attention which one I copied. I think I used the second one as I was assuming it's for esim. I'm panicking now...

You did not use IMEI 1? If your order has not shipped out you can call and try to cancel if you want (assuming you did not send in your device already). If you already mailed your device to Assurant that could complicate things.

At the moment you cannot trade in S26 models for other S26 models.

You could find that by yourself on spectrum's website.

Are you expecting some strangers on the internet to find out what you could do by yourself very easily? It takes at most a few minutes. But here goes the info you may not find easily - If you are using Spectrum's S26, then you can forget about the $700 credit and you will be provided with just the actual trade-in value of the phone. Try it, you will see.

To be fair the Spectrum mobile website now seems to require valid IMEI to give trade-in value so it is not quite as easy to get the trade-in values as when you could just test things out with random numbers.

If you are trading in, you'd be paying at least $700 off the msrp, depending on what kind of phone you are trading. And yes, you could cancel the line anytime. there's not really a binding contract.

If you want to unlock the phone you have to have it paid off and keep it on the line for 60 days. So at 60 days contact Spectrum and get it unlocked especially if you are planning to use it in Europe. Then you can cancel the line.

Is someone kind enough to answer if "new internet customer + financing 4 x new S26U with port-in would qualify $700 trade-in + $400 off per line? or $400 off would be limited to the first 2 lines?"

After seeing his comment, I checked myself. $700 trade-in credit stick if you use IMEI2 but not when you put IMEI1.

If you somehow manage to convince a store associate to use IMEI2, which I think will be tough, you can get a full $1105 trade in credit.

I just saw the trade-in credit in my account; it's $705. Is the tax not refunded in NYC?

Just placed an order, trade-in my spectrum S26 for another spectrum S26, it shows "Trade-In Value ($405.00) + Spectrum Promotion ($700.00)" all the way to the order was placed. I printed webpage to PDFs as evidence.

I used the true IMEI of my spectrum S26. Wish me good luck!

It seems they have quietly allow trading in S26 for the promotion again. I wasn't allowed last weekend.
so you are getting net refund after this?

whats your profit after taxes and first month plan?

Why go for the regular 17? I think the iphone air is the same price if not cheaper and its value is more similar to the 17 pro. If you were buying for personal use id assume the air is a better buy as well.

I just got the trade-in credit reflect in my account, but strangely this time they didn't credit back the tax for the trade-in amount. In all three previous years I have got trade-in amount plus tax. Anybody else seeing this?
