they did it during the s25 days too... the trade in assurant companies requires it
now do what I did, port those $20 lines to metropcs, and get the the 16e for $99+1month plans. trade in the 16e directly to apple for $310 each in GC. =)
did it 4 times.
Current setup: 1 Unlimited Plus line w/BYOD device owned outright.
Desired Approach: (1) TODAY - trade in junk phone for $700 credit on S26 so $199 + taxes & fees (less whatever minor trade in credit I receive). (2) TOMORROW - trade in S26 acquired today for iPhone Air for $190 + taxes & fees ($799 - $409 S26 trade value + $200 Trade Bonus).
Goal is to get the iPhone Air for $389 + taxes & 2 activation fees (basically using the S26 deal to get an extra $209 of trade value on the device) but timing matters because the doubled trade bonus ($200 total) for the iPhone Air is scheduled to expire tomorrow, and don't know if going back to back will nullify anything.
TLDR: Can I get an S26 on the trade-in promo today, and turn around and use that device for a trade on the same account tomorrow & still be eligible for the $200 bonus trade value on the iPhone Air? Not looking to double-dip on the Samsung $700 bonus as it looks like that's closed
I personally do not think most stores would have an issue with the trade-in because I do not see how they could argue with you if you say you want a different phone. The main reason people got denied in the past was trying to trade-in same device for exact same device, or their account got automatically flagged after doing too many trade-ins in-store and so then could only do online.

Added a new $30 new line with $20 activation fees. Called and chatted with several agents to waive activation fees, including retention, but no go. I guess I'll have to spend $90 for 3 months service before it can be unlocked. Then switch to much cheaper and better prepaid plans.

Port the free lines out to grab the $99 16e iphones and trade them into apple for $310 GC each. This will closed the $20 lines and not have to mess with any Spectrum agents.
Then use the one free spectrum line to unlock each phone after the 60 days, one by one after moving the free line to the new IMEI/s26 phone. The 60 days start when you first activated the s26 on spectrum network. I've done this every year for past 3 years.
You just have to "explain" to the reps, who are typically clueless when trying to unlock
Send the same day, but my refund is already on my credit card
from your account, pay off your phone online tomorrow so it will showing the one credit.
I guess since my primary reason for going in store was to avoid the tax and I'm not getting that benefit anyway I might as well just buy online and ship the trade, hope that doesn't have any issues, hasn't been a problem in the past.
