i remember last year, people who did pre-order and mailed in their trade-in's were having issues with getting trade-in credit to show on their account, even after 2-3 months. Think i'm gonna go with trade-in at store again for this year.

A question to those who traded-in online. Did you just factory reset the device and send it in or did you factory reset, reboot it and skip it until the home screen? I am confused and a little worried, I don't trade-in typically online.

So I went back to the store today and I managed to get my s26 ultra 256 GB as they don't carry the 512 GB in store. If I was to order it to be shipped to me I would have had to pay the tax on the full amount of the phone before any discounts and then rely on the discounts and the trade-in being credited. The only thing that was weird is I'm in NYC and my total was $199.99 and the tax came out to $53 nobody could explain why it was so much but I was able to call in and have them issue me a $30 service credit. The only other issue I experienced I got the free line for a year but I couldn't add my Galaxy watch 6 as the IMEI came up as incompatible even though I bought it directly from Samsung and I had it working with T-Mobile but I don't even know if it's worth it for $10 a month the amount that I use it. So total came out to about $225 by trading in the Moto 5G 2025 that I purchased for $40 from Amazon but beware that it ships with an activation screen that you can't get past and they're supposed to test the camera by scanning a QR code before they accept it but I was able to show them that it was brand new I just opened it and they somehow bypassed that check and accepted it.

You be fine, factory reset and power it off.
I would video record your phone's condition and the iMei of the device while navitaging to the factory reset and factory reset it. Wait till the phone finishes factory resetting, power it off, make sure battery is sufficiently charged. Provide enough protection on the device when you ship it. UPS scan works as they does check the phone cosmetic condition before accepting the package.

I have read that before, but I didn't see the time on 4/21. From your post, you indicated 9pm PST on 4/20 which confused me. I believe since it didn't indicate the time, then we can assume 12pm EST on 4/21 I guess.
Meaning that the offer is valid through 4/21 I hope as I just ordered two more phones to trade in in case one of them arrives late both expected to be delivered that day I only need one more line which hopefully is possible. Has anybody gotten more than one? Do they still give you the $400 and the $700?

Ah man, I should have waited till today to get the S26+ for mom and dad.Got 2 S26 yesterday paid, $200 each plus tax. Should I go in today and return both, pay the $50 restocking fee to get the $200 refunded and pick up the S26+?This will work ok even though we did the $700 trade in yesterday?
Hey, just checking- have you returned s26 or traded in it for ultra?

Oh no. I didn't know they were different and I didn't pay attention which one I copied. I think I used the second one as I was assuming it's for esim. I'm panicking now...
Believe it or not I mailed it out after hesitating a lot and thinking I could take the risk of complaining through BBB again. Finally today they emailed me that I will get the $700 bonus for the IMEI2 trade in of my s26. How lucky I am. Guess will stick to spectrum longer. They are good guys.
Good news! We've received your device and inspected it. You'll be receiving a Trade-In Credit of $405.00 for your device. In addition to your Trade-In amount, you also qualify for the Trade-In Promotion, which brings your total to $1,105.00.

Congratulations! Can you provide the timelines of when you sent the device and when Assurant received it and when they sent acceptance email ? Thanks!

20260318, order placed;
20260406, shipped, late since I was waiting until another trade-in credit to show up in my account;
20260409, delivered;
20260429, get email saying "Total: $1,105.00", which is $405 TIV + $700 promotion;
Not in my Spectrum account yet, but usually when you get the email, it will be all good.

I appreciate the detailed information. So it took them 20 days to complete the assessment.

Great that it worked! Did you get an additional $400 credit on top of that like in the current promotion that started April 14th? There was a $400 off promotion that was in place on March 18th but only for new customers. Thanks

They said allowing max 10 business days after the item is delivered to Assurant. If not hearing from Assurant after 10 business days, email Assurant about it. The Assurant email is "[email protected]" and make sure include the tracking number of the device that you sent to them and the content of the email (Offer Number, etc.) that tell you to send in the device; so that they know your trade-in information.

Weird. I got charged tax on the $400 discount in-store.
It's what everybody else has been reporting in this thread, others get charged tax on full price depending on the state. The store employee kind of screwed me over and signed me up for installments so I got charged tax on the full price. Not sure if they are going to refund me that portion or not.

Unfortunately, no. This was the initial offer when $400 requires new users and new subscriptions.
It's a good idea to try this IMEI2 trick again with the new promotion!
