I own a few of these. At $12 this is a steal. They sound great and are really well built. I use them to record ambient noise outside like rain and rivers and it's really nice to have a cheap, great sounding mic that I don't have to worry too much about.
Also great for Teams meetings, twitch, and discord.

not to get nitpicky but this mic has a cardioid polar pattern, meaning it's better for directional sources like vocals (since it blocks out everything behind it). for ambient/nature recordings you'd ideally want an omnidirectional pattern

Do I need to be real close to the mic or can it be set on the desk. Worried about not picking up the voice if its on the desk
I usually am like a 1ft to a 1ft 1/2 away from the mic and customers hear me fine.

This one 1000 percent. You don't want anyone's item that their mouth has been all over.

1000%, this is a real company. I have two of their XLR condensor mics. Best bang for the buck studio mic according to half the engineers I've worked with. I love them, will vouch for them. The only wild card here is that it's USB, but $12 feels like parts cost.
you really dont know the part cost. in china that is $3 at the most. our $ based gdp is heavily inflated

I have this exact mic. It's amazing for the price. The usbc does come unplugged on its own sometimes. That's the only downside. 100% worth it for this price

It's listed for like $25 on AMZN itself. Still a great price, but not quite $100 --> $12.

How does this Bumblebee II compare to the JLabs Talk mic that is often on sale for $25 but sells at Best Buy for $70? About the same?

i got one of these when it was $15. it has a pretty bad hiss. I found it to be unusable. But maybe I just got a bad one?

The mic has a 2.5mm plug on the bottom and acts as a usb based audio output (so you can monitor what the mic is picking up plus whatever sounds are coming from the pc)
I hope you're wrong about the size of the headphone plug/jack. I've got so many 3.5mm cables, and my new JBL headphones have a 2.5mm jack! Luckily they gave me a 2.5-to-3.5 cable. Now I'll need a cable with 2.5mm on both sides?

Good deal it seems. Regular price seems "inflated"

Works great on teams calls. Sits next to my keyboard and the speakers are behind it. Only picks up my voice and does so clearly. The only downside is the base is a bit big with its 3/4 circle shape. I'd like to get a desk clamp but that'd probably be more expensive than the mic.
