I own a few of these. At $12 this is a steal. They sound great and are really well built. I use them to record ambient noise outside like rain and rivers and it's really nice to have a cheap, great sounding mic that I don't have to worry too much about.
Also great for Teams meetings, twitch, and discord.

not to get nitpicky but this mic has a cardioid polar pattern, meaning it's better for directional sources like vocals (since it blocks out everything behind it). for ambient/nature recordings you'd ideally want an omnidirectional pattern

Works great on teams calls. Sits next to my keyboard and the speakers are behind it. Only picks up my voice and does so clearly. The only downside is the base is a bit big with its 3/4 circle shape. I'd like to get a desk clamp but that'd probably be more expensive than the mic.

This one is $10, but doesn't have good review:

For this price point and the largely positive opinions of uses I will surely give it a try!

i got one of these when it was $15. it has a pretty bad hiss. I found it to be unusable. But maybe I just got a bad one?
Try to test with different USB PORT or COMPUTER/LAPTOP to see how it sound. If the hiss is still on with different computer/laptop. Probably you got bad one.

Another fan [with reasonable expectations] here 🙋 Was a buyer last year at $15, been really pleased with this for zoom/teams and occasional voiceovers on training video clips - clear, nice range, and at a value price point. Again it's a desktop USB mic for $12... if you need one, just do it!

I hope you're wrong about the size of the headphone plug/jack. I've got so many 3.5mm cables, and my new JBL headphones have a 2.5mm jack! Luckily they gave me a 2.5-to-3.5 cable. Now I'll need a cable with 2.5mm on both sides?
its a standard headphone jack. just tested it
