- Helium: Easy, asked for ID. Signed up and transferred out in minutes. From clicking port to activating on the 16e was more than 4 days due to shipping. Tried making another account with different email but ID didn't go through. ~$1
- Tmobile life: Did it through app but couldn't figure out to how actually install esim. I think I accidentally x'd out when it was installing and couldn't get back. Tried creating another profile with different email/phone but was recognized. Free
- MobileX: Same as helium but haven't tried multiple numbers. ~$5
- Lyca: Had to signup through website. Super slow website and they email you a QR within minutes. Need to call within business hours to port out. Haven't tried creating another account. ~$5
Questions for those who did it, how do I now transfer the line to another device? I have an apple SE sitting here all empty and alone...
And what is the exact process for trade-in? Assume first transfer line, then reset phone, and... then try to trade-in? Never did a trade-in before so apologies if this is basic stuff.
Also checked for online deals, but seeing $140 for another 16e... not really a discount anymore. Assume Metro deals are also dead -- and they are a super pain to deal with. But if I transfer the lines, guessing if anything comes along I can still do it?
Thanks.
type in esim
it will ask what you want to do. just select to switch to another phone
it will ask your phone number. I think it texted me a code to my phone.
then it will ask for the new imei
type it in the chat and it will switch service to the new device
for trade in, reset your phone completely, that includes deleting the esim.
I would set up the phone once it restarts since the apple rep will have to scan some QR code stuff

And Metro similar? Afraid of Metro...

Or if this is how it works -- in case a Metro or Cricket deal comes along (has to be soon) where it requires the acct to be active still. If I get rid of the esim entirely, I assume I can't even get into my Metro acct.

Am I doing something wrong there? Once transferred to my new phone, I assumed I could use the plan like normal. Did I miss a step somewhere?

Weird setup where neither phone now has service.
Edit: and setting the 16E back to factory made no difference. Hmm... tried the QR code again on the SE, and it says it can't activate it (duh, since it's already activated), but thought I'd try it anyway.
Basically SE has the ESIM, it's activated, all good for data/phone. Just the little problem of it not working.

Looks like it should have worked. Just, that it didn't.
Only thing maybe I did wrong was how I set up the SE's Esim? I chose add a new Esim and did the QR code route. Is that how everyone else did it?
I mean it took it, and it's on my SE now. So it did transfer. But it's like it transferred a broken brain.
I still have the Metro transfer to attempt next. Not looking forward to that one...
