T-Mobile 30 day eSIM Trial on T-Life App you can port it out for free. I got 4 phones to use on trials from Straight Talk/Total Wireless deals unlocked in last 3 years.

After get Free Trial Number create a T-Mobile ID: Use the T-Mobile website to link your trial number to a email/profile.

Locate Account Info: Your account number in the "Account Summary" section of the online portal. Generate a Port PIN: Under Settings in Profile

For Chrome, open incognito page, chose I need a new number, chose $55 plan, enter your zip, hit get new number, hoover your mouse to the top right area near the X then message for coupon will pop up, works for me every time. These $25 off coupon works for only new customer, won't work for existing customer option. I can give you a code if you can't generate one.

First of all, I feel sorry for everything you've gone through so far. For me bought 1st phone for $120, 2nd 3rd lines for $50 using sister address with her credit card. Used 2 Straight Talk port-in #'s(from last ST deal, phones and tablet) and 1 Lyca paid $5.25. Yesterday went 2 stores, one store offered $175 for 2, other store offered $229 for 3 over the phone. Asked some discounts with cash and offered $179, so I went to that store to get 3 and final price was $149. Cheaper than online order. This time used ST, Lyca and Metro port-in #'s. Everything went smoothly.
I appreciate that. So when you say $120 + $50 + $50, do you mean an online order? I was able to place an online order for 2 under the same address & CC#. I'm curious why they'd give a discount with cash? Don't they get paid the same no matter what payment method you use? They quoted $229, then changed it to $179, then changed it again to $149 when you went in, is that correct? Did they waive activation fees- is that how you got them so cheap? And the manager told me all he could do was 2. With all of those port-in numbers, do you pay for them each month to keep them? I'm a newbie to all of this port-in stuff. Thanks for your help.

How were you able to order in the store after ordering online? Were they not able to see that you already had an online account? I'm assuming they check ID in the store and match the address? Thanks.

Assume Tmobile won't work for this? My only spare left, but guessing it won't work since Cricket uses Tmobile? Talking about instore, not online. Just wondering if I want to try for one more.

Assuming that the phones that everybody is receiving are in brand new factory sealed boxes, it must be something on Apple's end.
I have a sneaking suspicion that if the phone i never activated on apple's end ( going through the initial setup to getto the home screen) that they can't see it properly and it throws an error. their old warranty system was like that where a serial number wouldn't show warranty info or expiration date unless it was setup first.

It's happening to phones that have been activated too. My buddy waited a few days after activating and it was still flagged as unauthorized modifications at the Apple store.

I'm wondering if the issue is just a batch of phones where an internal component wasn't properly registered on Apple's end during production which is causing it be read as tampered when it's not. The iPhone 16e's only recently became available for trade in, so this might be a relatively new problem that will take some time to be kicked up the chain at Apple until it's fixed.

The strange thing is the inconsistency. Plenty of people with no issues and a decent amount with issues, and there doesn't seem to be a common denominator.

Online order 3 phones price was $170 total. I don't think price matters with cash or not. All depends on the store and salesperson. Yesterday got another 16e for $33. The salesperson said can't buy another 16e. I have to open a new account and pay $78.

Cricket uses AT&T. Your Tmobile number should be just fine
