Unlocked Motorola Moto G Power 2024 5G 128GB/8GB Blue + New Line Activation with Verizon $29.99 BestBuy

https://www.bestbuy.com/product/m...ku/6572573

Steps to follow to get the deal:

1. Go to Bestbuy Listing for Motorola Moto G Power 2024 5G 128GB/8GB Blue and choose "We'll help to connect this with carrier".
2. Choose Verizon and then new number (you can also choose to transfer a number but given that you are going to cancel it first thing new number is better).
3. Go through checkout and fill out verizon related info. Note down the account PIN you used as you might need it later during cancellation.
4. You can pick the phone up in the store. After pickup, setup verizon account with the new phone number.
5. Chat with CS to cancel the account. Activation fee is waived if cancelled within 3 days.
6. The phone is factory unlocked, sealed and ready to be used with any provider.

Personally, I don't do these activation deals at Best Buy but people have had better experiences. If you can make it work for yourself, its a great device for $30, especially being unlocked.

Community Reviews

This Moto G Power 2024 is a budget unlocked phone that stands out for solid reception, decent everyday speed, and a comfortable rubber like back. The display and overall feel get strong marks, and it works well as a basic daily driver on carriers like Tello, Google Fi, and Verizon. The main drawbacks are weak rear camera performance and reports of slow or spotty connectivity on some networks. The Verizon activation bundle also adds hassle, with possible plan requirements, fees, and cancellation follow up, so it fits best if you want the phone more than the carrier promo.

With Visible $45 plan which gets discounted to $35 paired with the now $79.99 phone (when paired with Visible), may be the best deal of the different configurations that can be done. I recently got an "unlocked" one from eBay but it's actually locked and can't even get any bars with the default Verizon service, thus can't activate. I'm in dialog with the seller. In hindsight, I think I should have gone with this BestBuy deal with Visible.

yep.
We eventually settled for a Samsung a36 (international version, that doesn't have eSIM, nor expandable SD storage slot, but has 8GB RAM as opposed to the 6GB for the US version). Also to note I double checked the supported 5G bands to see if my residential area (just 7 miles north of Washington DC) is covered before getting this one from Walmart for $240. BTW, walmart is now selling unlocked 2024 Samsung a35 US version for $196. Furthermore, Samsung has much longer support for security updates than Moto.

How much should be paid up front: $30 (phone) + $75 monthly plan + activation fee + tax? The final cost is $30 + tax after cancellation?

tried cancelling after receiving phone, had to chat with three reps until i got one that said it would cancel with no charges, bill had already posted to the account so they said it would reverse the charges after the billing cycle a month from now. screenshotted everything in case anyone tries to say otherwise

phone itself is real nice though for the $20 i paid
Did you have to turn on the phone to activate the SIM? I have not received any instruction to activate the account in order to cancel.

very slow, pass
It's a decent mid range processor and 8gb RAM, makes for a good secondary phone, but i wouldn't mind using it as a primary either. Also! you can root it to debloat and speed it up https://youtu.be/DHfQ-0v6X1U

The phone is nothing to do with Verizon, it an unlocked device not tied to Verizon. It's just that it's bundled with a line activation to get a discount of $100
can we not activate the number at all(order online)? it says one time activation fee and monthly charges. the phone is already unlocked right? no activation no charges? will it work that way? sorry for such dumb question. I have no idea how these work.

You have to activate a new line with Verizon to get the $100 discount on the phone price, that's the whole point. As mentioned in the steps to follow in OP, you have to contact Verizon (after you get the phone picked up or delivered) to cancel the line and also refund the activation fee and pro-rated plan charges.
Otherwise, you can simply buy the device at full price.
